This position is for a Senior Project Manager to make an impact In this role, you will focus on the effective operational delivery of Strategic Customer projects for Digital Buildings and Digital Power Solutions [Digital Power LV & MV and Digital Building monitoring and Controls].

This is a customer site based role, hands-on customer facing position and the successful candidate must work well with a multi-activities team and interface directly with contractors and end-users regularly. The key requirement is to reduce risk, improve operational delivery and ensure the high standard of customer experience.

The role would report to the Program Leader and work closely with the Country stakeholders, project sponsors, project management team(s), Central Engineering and local Engineering teams, SI partners, etc to define the project objectives, create a plan for executing those objectives.

What will you do?

  • Review technical specification and take decisions on technical comments raised by the customer.
  • Monitor and control projects progress to ensure the on-time delivery of the projects. Use the tracking board tool and take pro-active decisions and actions to prevent any slippages. Ensure full and effective reporting of project progress and status to management.
  • Master Project Risks & Opportunities by assessing, identifying, mitigating and controlling any potential situations that could impact (negatively or positively) the performance of the project.
  • Take full responsibility of Project margin deviation. Run regular Project reviews and provide best estimates of margin at completion. Take pro-active decisions and actions to prevent negative DVC margin deviation.
  • Master Variation Order & Claim process for both Customer and main suppliers. Obtain Variation Orders for any deviation from the contractual scope. Mitigate any source of conflict with customer or suppliers throughout the project execution phase.
  • Challenge Project Buyer by setting objectives in terms of cost saving and lead time reduction
  • Drive customer relationship and proactively communicate (executive summary, emails, call, meeting). Manage the FAT event and realize the FAT NPS. Establish key relationships with all business relevant stakeholders.

What qualifications will make you successful?

In this role practical experience will carry a high weighting than formal qualifications: -

  • Bachelor's Degree in Project Management, Mechanical, Electrical, or an equivalent Engineering discipline.
  • Minimum of 7 years' work experience as a Project Manager in BMS, HVAC, or Industrial Controls / Automation.
  • PMI PMP Certification or an equivalent
  • Advantage to have experience in construction project management within a Data Centre environment.
  • Experience with Smartsheet and Microsoft Project (or similar) a plus.
