St Joseph's Institution International Preschool, a Catholic & Lasallian school that provides a quality international education for a diverse student body, rooted in the community of Singapore, is seeking a dynamic, conscientious and proactive individual to join us.

We are seeking applications for the position to start in April 2025.

Primary Function

Responsible to the Head, Academic & Operations (in consultation with Head of School) to develop and plan the preschool's Virtues Project and Pastoral Care programme for all class levels. The pastoral care specialist also works collaboratively with the Level Heads (Head of Nursery and Kindergarten), Catholic and other educators including Catholic volunteers in implementing the Virtues Project and Pastoral Care programme for the children and their families in the class/school.

Job Duties and responsibilities

  1. Plans, develops and implements innovative and child-centred activities for the Virtues Project and Pastoral Care programme based on SJII's Lasalian Catholic ethos and the preschool's curriculum framework and outcomes that demonstrates sound beliefs, values, rituals and practices within a faith-based setting.
  2. Works with the Head, Academic & Operations, Level Heads, Catholic educators, other educators as well as Catholic volunteers to ensure proper delivery of the Virtues Project and the different components of the Pastoral Care programme (including the use of all resources).
  3. Submits Monthly Reports to the Head, Academic & Operations as a review for the ongoing work of the Virtues Project and Pastoral Care programme, highlighting what is going well and what needs improvement.
  4. Plans and works with various stakeholders (Head of School, Head, Academic & Operations, Level Heads, Educators, Volunteers etc.) to set up appropriate "sacred spaces" as well as learning environments for the class/school that exemplify the Virtues Project and the Pastoral Care programme.
  5. Holds regular meetings/ discussions with various stakeholders (Head of School, Head, Academic & Operations, Level Heads, Educators, Volunteers etc.) to discuss, brainstorm, clarify, agree on, resolve, and act on pastoral care matters.
  6. Contributes to the content, material and/or information needed for parent-teacher conferences that is related to the Virtues Project and/or Pastoral Care programme where appropriate and applicable.
  7. Plans and conducts periodic retreat sessions for the SJII PS team and/or other teams within SJII as part of personal and professional development including strengthening and deepening the understanding of Pastoral Care for children and their families.
  8. Will be expected to share methodologies and strategies and collaborate with the SJII PS staff team and other authorized persons such as students, researchers etc. in the spirit of showcasing the Virtues Project and Pastoral Care programme that is unique to SJII PS.
  9. Participates in all organization and school-organised activities
  10. Promotes SJI International Preschool's social mission and objectives through the activities of the school in reaching out to the children, parents, and community.
  11. Implements SJI International Preschool's Shared Vision and Mission in motivating staff and leading by example.
  12. Performs other related duties as assigned by Head, Academic & Operations and/or Head of School.

Requirements

  • At least a Bachelor's degree with relevant experience in the field of specialisation
  • 3-5 years of working experience
  • Fluent in English (Written and Spoken)
