Responsibilities:

  • Reports to: Managing Director
  • Data Extraction and Transformation:
    • Develop and maintain efficient ETL processes to extract data from various sources, including MySQL databases, Excel files, and REST APIs.
    • Transform raw data into a structured format suitable for analysis and reporting.
    • Ensure data quality and integrity throughout the ETL process.
  • Data Analysis:
    • Perform in-depth data analysis using SQL and other statistical methods to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies.
    • Develop and maintain complex SQL queries to extract relevant data from the MySQL database.
    • Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand their data needs and translate them into actionable insights.
  • Report Automation:
    • Automate the generation of manual reports by developing and implementing automated reporting solutions.
    • Create and maintain efficient data pipelines to support automated reporting processes. (Tableau Prep Builder preferred)
  • Dashboard Development:
    • Design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards using Tableau to visualize complex data and communicate insights effectively.
    • Develop high-level management dashboards to provide executive-level overviews of key performance indicators (KPIs).
    • Collaborate with business users to create dashboards that meet their specific needs and provide actionable information.
  • Data Governance:
    • Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and security by implementing appropriate data governance practices.
    • Develop and maintain data documentation and metadata.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • Possess at least 3 years of relevant experience, preferably in the Maritime industry.
  • Proven experience in data analysis and business intelligence.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL and database management systems (MySQL preferred).
  • Experience with ETL tools and processes.
  • Expertise in data visualization tools (Tableau preferred).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Python or other scripting languages.
  • Knowledge of data warehousing and modeling concepts.
  • Experience with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
