This position will play a key role in supporting the organization's sustainability goals through accurate data management, reporting, and the implementation of effective decarbonization strategies.

Key ResponsibilitiesGHG Inventory Management
  • Develop and maintain a detailed GHG inventory for all operations.
  • Oversee the accurate collection, analysis, and reporting of emissions data.
  • Model future emissions to support the organization's decarbonization strategy.
Capacity Building
  • Deliver training sessions and raise awareness among employees about GHG management and sustainability initiatives.
Strategy Development
  • Set and implement GHG reduction targets and strategies in line with SBTi standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate reduction initiatives into business operations.
Compliance and Reporting
  • Ensure compliance with relevant local, national, and international regulations on GHG emissions.
  • Prepare and submit detailed reports to regulatory bodies and key stakeholders.
Stakeholder Engagement
  • Engage with internal teams and external partners to advance GHG reduction efforts.
  • Represent the organization in industry forums and sustainability networks.
Monitoring and Evaluation
  • Track progress towards emissions reduction goals and provide regular updates to senior management.
  • Lead the development and enhancement of GHG data collection and reporting systems in collaboration with the IT team.
  • Assess the effectiveness of GHG reduction initiatives and recommend improvements.
Technical ExpertiseGreenhouse Gas Accounting
  • Proficiency in tools and methodologies such as IPCC, ISO 14064, GHG Protocol, and SBTi.
  • Experience in estimating and managing emissions across the palm oil and banana production chains.
Environmental Science
  • In-depth knowledge of Forest, Land, and Agriculture (FLAG) land emissions and geospatial data for carbon pool estimations.
  • Expertise in GHG target setting, predictive modeling, and decarbonization strategies.
Regulatory Knowledge
  • Familiarity with local and international GHG regulations and standards, including benchmarks like CDP Climate Change.
Communication and Collaboration
  • Strong ability to work with operational teams, management, smallholders, voluntary certifications (e.g., RSPO, ISCC), and regulators.
  • Skilled in preparing and presenting reports on emissions and sustainability efforts.
Qualifications and Experience

The ideal candidate for this position should possess the following qualifications and skills:


• Degree in Environmental Science / Chemistry / Biochemistry or similar.


• At least 5 years' experience managing GHG emissions in the relevant industry.


• Able to demonstrate working ability to calculate GHG emissions based on internationally recognized methodologies.


• Sector insight and foresight to anticipate trends and proactively implement solutions.


• Ability to work at a middle management level with multiple career development paths, either vertically or horizontally.


• A very hands-on approach while also being able to strategize for long-term sustainability goals.

Reporting Structure and Employment Details
  • This is a full-time role reporting directly to the Group Director of Sustainability.
