The Early Mental Potential & Wellbeing Research Centre'smission is to maximise every child's mental and emotional capitalby uplifting neurodevelopmental trajectories during early sensitiveperiods through interdisciplinary discovery science andtranslational technologies.

Toward this aim, weengage in 3 major activities and thrusts:

1)Core Discovery Research, Empowering Science:Basic neuroscience research and advanced computational models tounderstand individual neurocognitive potential, developmentaltrajectories, and risk and resilience factors;

2) Translation to Clinic & Pedagogy,Empowering Practitioners: Developing precisionassessment and intervention tools to optimise parent-child socialand mental health within clinical, education and communitysettings;

3) Translation to Real-WorldTechnologies, Empowering Families: Creatingscalable solutions and real-world technologies for parents toenhance their child's mental and cognitive wellbeing athome.

We are seeking a Software EngineeringManager to partner with product management and engineering teams tolead a complex, multi-disciplinary project, together withPI - Professor Victoria Leong and co-I - A/Prof DomenicoCampolo. This role requires an individual with a strongtechnical background, exceptional project management skills, andthe ability to drive collaboration across various teams. The idealcandidate will also act as the Head Engineer / Tech ProjectManager, interfacing between external consultants and internalstaff, writing and overseeing the entire algorithm pipeline, andmanaging the people involved in writing thecode.

KeyResponsibilities:
  • Be bothhighly technical and an effective peoplemanager.
  • Be a subject matter expert in aproduct domain.
  • Lead teams that deliver onmultiple projects with increasing dependencies in an ambiguous orhigh-impact area.
  • Drive roadmap creation andexecution.
  • Participate in technical softwaredesign.
  • Measure the impact of your team and setclear expectations and goals.
  • Work effectivelywith cross-functional teams to set and achieve optimaloutcomes.
  • Partner with leadership to influenceand drive organizational design, contribution, andprioritization.
  • Act as the interface betweenexternal consultants and internal staff.
  • Buildand oversee the entire algorithm pipeline scheme (inputs, outputs,and connections between various domains) of thesoftware.
  • Supervise and manage the individualscode writing of SoftwareEngineers.


JobRequirements:
  • Master Degreein Computer Science, or equivalent practicalexperience.
  • Software engineering workexperience, including hands-on technical management buildingsoftware pipelines, API design, and interactions between serversand clients.
  • Experience coding in one of thefollowing languages: C++, Java,Python.
  • Demonstrated experience recruiting andmanaging technical teams, including performancemanagement.
  • Experience of working in afast-paced commercial/industry setting ispreferred
