Roles & Responsibilities

Job Description

  • Respect and value each child's social, cultural, and religious backgrounds, demonstrating mutual respect and tolerance through personal example.
  • Create and maintain a safe and secure environment where children feel comfortable and supported.
  • Teach and care for the class in accordance with the school's policies and guidelines, utilizing a variety of appropriate teaching and caregiving methods to ensure high-quality learning and care.
  • Provide diverse experiences and activities for children, including songs, games, and storytelling, to engage and stimulate their development.
  • Conduct lessons in line with the centre's curriculum.
  • Prepare planning documents that identify specific learning objectives, differentiated tasks, special needs, extension opportunities, and assessments, and submit them to the Principal or another authorized officer.
  • Maintain a professional dialogue with colleagues regarding the children, school matters, and team collaboration.
  • Ensure confidentiality of all information and intellectual property related to the centre.
  • Encourage children to take pride in their environment and foster respect and concern for others, contributing to a caring and gracious school community.
  • Take responsibility for all aspects of classroom management, ensuring resources are properly labeled, accessible, and that the room is organized and tidy.
  • Observe and document children's holistic development using various methods, maintaining appropriate records of each child's achievements and providing individual portfolios and reports.
  • Build positive relationships with parents of children in your care, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
  • Guide, motivate, and monitor Assistant Teachers and Classroom Helpers in fulfilling their responsibilities.
  • Adhere to the assigned work shift patterns of the centre.

Requirement

  • Candidates must hold a Diploma in Preschool Teaching (DPT) or a Diploma in Early Childhood Education.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills are required.
  • A genuine passion for working with children is essential.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
