Mizuho ESG Solutions, which sits within the Asia-Pacific Corporate Banking Department, offers a full suite of Sustainable Financing Services to its regional client base, from setting up internationally-aligned ESG financing frameworks to advising on decarbonization strategies and ESG Disclosure. Leveraging Mizuho's longstanding presence and extensive network in Asia Pacific, the Analyst will assist Mizuho ESG Solutions in actively engaging with clients and providing financing solutions that support the various stages of their journey to a sustainable and net zero future.

Job Responsibilities
Support ESG Cross-Asset Deal Origination and Management
  • Support Mizuho ESG Solutions and report to the APAC (ex. Japan) Head of ESG Solutions
  • Actively contribute to pitching efforts in securing Sustainable Finance mandates
  • Responsible for identifying, originating, structuring, and executing ESG financing opportunities, with a focus on bond and loan products
  • Closely collaborate with various business lines to ensure effective ideation and pipeline management across Bank and Securities product suite
  • Advise clients on ESG financing framework, sustainability and decarbonization strategy, selection of external review service providers, ESG disclosure etc.

Support ESG Business Development Initiatives and Capacity Building
  • Serve as a liaison with ESG teams across Mizuho's global network to drive ESG business development endeavors and product innovations
  • Be a champion to raise awareness among Mizuho's internal stakeholders on ESG and support capacity building efforts


Job Requirements
  • A Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in an ESG-related subject (e.g., sustainable finance, carbon economics, environmental management, energy engineering etc.) is preferred
  • Proven track record in the ESG space, with Bond/Loan/Fixed Income experience is preferred
  • 2 to 4 years of experience in financing origination/structuring/syndication in the banking sector is preferred
  • Detail-oriented with inquisitive mind and excellent research capability
  • Teamwork and can-do spirit, with strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively and efficiently interact with clients , as well as internal and external stakeholders
  • Motivated self-starter, with the ability to assume leadership in projects and initiatives, multi-task and project management under a deadline-driven environment
  • Excellent Excel and PowerPoint Skills
