Roles & Responsibilities

Job Description

  • Requires monitoring equipment, conducting regular inspections, performing maintenance tasks
  • Ensure compliance with safety,quality and environmental regulations
  • Responsible for all aspects of Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM) operation including maintenance of line and grade of the tunnel while steering the TBM, as well as operation of the segment erector and annular grouting systems including assembly, commissioning and dismantling of the applicable TBM
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations and quality standards
  • Monitor the consumption of lubricants and excavated materials throughout the mining cycle
  • Assist Tunnel Engineers with tunnelling shift reports and daily records
  • Assist M & E team with assembly and disassembly of TBM
  • Undertake cutterhead and tool inspection during the drive, take charge of emergency situations within the TBM

Job Requirement


  • Require strong knowledge of both Earth Pressure Balance (EPB) Shield and Slurry Shield type TBM
  • Minimum 20 years of relevant experience in operating, maintenance, servicing and troubleshooting of TBM
  • LTA/PUB project working experiences will be an added advantage
  • Preferably has experience in driving Herrenknecht,Kawasaki or other TBM brands
  • 6.0 days work-week and must be committed to work overtime where work requires
