Specifically:
  • Proactive management of legal and regulatory risks forWRB products and related segments in Singapore.
  • Central point of reference in Singapore for WRB legalissues for country, Group, business and functionalstakeholders.
  • Use technical knowledge of WRBproducts/ segments to provide sound, technical product, legal andtransactional advice, anticipate the impact of legal and regulatorydevelopments on the business and communicate such impact to thebusiness.
  • Proactive management support oflegal and regulatory risks in selling WRB products inSingapore.
  • Develop appropriate forms ofdocumentation for products and transactions in Singapore and, whererequired, support the creation of global standarddocumentation.
  • Support the standardization ofkey processes and documentation for WRB products.
  • Work with Group Legal, Group Compliance and SingaporeCompliance functions to ensure that robust local product/ providerdiligence processes, product documentation and pre and post salesgovernance of WRB products and services, in accordance with groupstandards, are properly embedded in Singapore.
  • As part of the products approval process, ensure materiallegal and compliance risks are identified and appropriatelymitigated. Review and approve the Singapore country addenda ofapplicable Product Program Guidelines for local and cross-borderregulatory risks.
  • Drive the development andmaintenance of good relationships with internal and externalbusiness stakeholders at appropriate levels ensuring an open andcooperative environment.
  • Provide legal advice,briefings, recommendations and reports on material legal risks andissues to business, country and functional stakeholders.
  • Effectively manage the process of engaging externalcounsel, including providing effective instructions to externalcounsel and negotiating appropriate fee structures for thetransaction inquestion.

  • Provide legal support to the Wealth & Retail Banking("WRB") Singapore business in order to support the CPBB strategicagenda in Singapore, in particular the SME and Wealth Servicesbusinesses.

RiskManagement

  • Qualified lawyer with 6 years' experience, preferablySingapore qualified.
  • Experience in andunderstanding of retail, wealth management and bancassuranceproducts across a variety of asset classes (including CASA,Deposits, Payments, Credit Cards, Secured and Unsecured Lending andInvestment Products (securities, structured products, funds andinsurance products)).
  • Regulatory knowledge ofsecurities and financial advisory regulation inSingapore.
  • Good judgment enabling theprovision of sound advice in difficult areas of law, regulation andpractice and the proactive management of legal risk.
  • Strong analytical and innovative legal skills.
