Roles & Responsibilities

Job Purpose:

The Sustainability (ESG) Manager will lead and oversee the development, implementation, and monitoring of sustainability and ESG strategies across the organization. This role will focus on aligning corporate practices with global sustainability goals, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations, and promoting socially responsible practices that positively impact the communities and stakeholders. This position involves working closely with internal teams, external stakeholders, and regulatory bodies to enhance the organization's sustainability performance.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Strategy Development and Execution:

- Develop and implement a comprehensive ESG strategy to align with the company's mission, values, and regulatory requirements.

- Establish clear and measurable ESG targets, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives.

- Track ESG trends and regulations, ensuring the organization remains in compliance and stays ahead of industry changes.

  • Sustainability Reporting & Compliance:

- Oversee the preparation and communication of ESG-related reports, ensuring transparency and adherence to global standards (e.g., GRI, SASB, TCFD, etc.).

- Ensure the company meets all ESG-related regulatory requirements, certifications, and audits.

- Collaborate with various departments to collect data and monitor key sustainability metrics.

  • Stakeholder Engagement:

- Foster relationships with external stakeholders, including regulatory bodies, community groups, investors, and other relevant organizations.

- Manage ESG communications and initiatives, creating awareness both within and outside the organization.

  • Sustainable Business Practices:

- Identify and implement sustainable business practices across the organization, including reducing carbon footprints, resource consumption, and waste.

- Promote circular economy principles, sustainable sourcing, and the adoption of green technologies.

- Work closely with supply chain and procurement teams to ensure sustainable practices are embedded throughout the value chain.

  • Data Analysis & Performance Monitoring:

- Collect, analyze, and report on ESG performance, ensuring continuous improvement and driving accountability.

- Utilize ESG analytics tools and technologies to track progress, identify risks, and recommend solutions.

  • Team Leadership & Collaboration:

- Lead and mentor cross-functional teams involved in sustainability and ESG initiatives.

- Collaborate with departments such as operations, legal, communications, and marketing to embed sustainability principles in all areas of business.

  • Risk Management:

- Identify and assess ESG-related risks, such as climate change, regulatory shifts, and social impacts, and develop mitigation strategies.

- Provide guidance on ESG-related issues during the decision-making process to minimize potential risks

Job Requirements:

- Strong understanding of environmental, social, and governance issues and their impact on business.

- Proficiency in ESG reporting and performance management tools.

- Excellent project management, organizational, and leadership skills.

- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex ESG issues to both internal and external stakeholders.

- Ability to influence and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels of the organization

- Passionate about sustainability and environmental stewardship.

- Proactive and solutions-oriented with a strategic mindset.

- Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to work with diverse teams.

- Analytical with attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in reporting and compliance

Education, Experience & Training

- Degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Business Administration, or a related field.

- Relevant certifications and/or sustainability credentials

- Minimum of [5] years of experience in ESG, sustainability, or related roles, with a strong understanding of ESG frameworks, regulations, and sustainability practices.

- Experience in sustainability reporting, data analysis, and implementing sustainable initiatives.
