Roles & Responsibilities

As an inflight doctor, your primary responsibility is to provide medical assistance to patients before, during and after a Air Ambulance flight. Your duties may include:

  1. Responding to medical emergencies: If a patient experiences a medical emergency during the flight, you will be required to assess their condition and provide necessary medical treatment.
  2. Administering medications: You may need to administer medications to patients who require them during the flight. This could include prescription medications, over-the-counter medications, or other treatments.
  3. Providing medical advice: Patient companions may approach you with medical concerns or questions during the flight. As an inflight doctor, you will be expected to provide advice and recommendations on how to manage these concerns.
  4. Maintaining medical supplies: You will be responsible for ensuring that the aircraft's medical supplies are properly stocked and organized. This includes monitoring expiration dates and ensuring that all necessary equipment is available.
  5. Communicating with ground-based medical professionals: to assess medical reports and fit to fly status, you will need to communicate with medical professionals, departing and receiving care, to coordinate the medical evacuation and transportation of the patient.
  6. Completing necessary documentation: You will be responsible for completing all necessary documentation related to the patient that occur prior to, during and after the flight. This will include filling out medical reports, providing regular updates on patient condition, and documenting all treatment provided.
  7. Training and education: You will be required to undergo training and education to learn how to handle medical emergencies in the aircraft and properly use our medical equipment.

Overall, as an inflight doctor, your primary goal is to ensure the health and safety of all patients during the flight.
