Roles & Responsibilities

Portfolio Manager (HFT)/Hedge Fund

Our client, a leading hedge fund is looking to fill the role of an experienced Portfolio Manager specializing in High-Frequency Trading (HFT).

Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and optimize HFT strategies across multiple asset classes and markets.
  • Identify and exploit inefficiencies in market microstructures to achieve alpha generation.
  • Oversee real-time execution of trading strategies to ensure performance and alignment with risk parameters.
  • Manage risk-adjusted returns of the portfolio, adhering to the firm’s risk tolerance and investment guidelines.
  • Monitor and analyze portfolio performance, making data-driven decisions for improvement.
  • Integrate FPGA and other hardware acceleration technologies for maximum performance.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes to identify new opportunities.
  • Conduct research on market dynamics, liquidity, and price behavior to inform strategy refinement.
  • Implement and enforce stringent risk management protocols to protect the portfolio from adverse events.
  • Monitor key metrics, including drawdowns, slippage, and execution risks, in real-time.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a quantitative field such as Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or Finance; PhD preferred.
  • Proven experience as a Portfolio Manager or Senior Trader in HFT within a hedge fund or proprietary trading firm.
  • Deep understanding of market microstructure, order types, and latency-sensitive trading.
  • Strong programming skills in languages such as C++, Python, or Java, and familiarity with FPGA development (Verilog/VHDL).
  • Track record of delivering consistent, high-risk-adjusted returns in an HFT environment.
  • Expertise in backtesting, performance optimization, and data analysis.
