As a Speech Therapist, you will play a crucial role in providing comprehensive speech therapy services to patients of all ages with various communication and swallowing disorders. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of individuals experiencing speech and language difficulties, while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals.

Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders in patients.
  2. Develop individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings, patient needs, and goals.
  3. Implement evidence-based therapeutic interventions to improve speech and language skills, communication abilities, and swallowing function.
  4. Provide counseling and education to patients and their families regarding communication strategies, techniques, and exercises.
  5. Collaborate closely with other healthcare professionals, including physicians, nurses, occupational therapists, and physical therapists, to ensure integrated and holistic patient care.
  6. Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary to achieve optimal outcomes.
  7. Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of evaluations, treatment sessions, and progress reports in accordance with professional and regulatory standards.
  8. Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings, case conferences, and clinical rounds to discuss patient progress, treatment strategies, and discharge planning.
  9. Stay informed about advancements in the field of speech therapy through continued education, training, and professional development activities.
  10. Adhere to ethical principles, confidentiality guidelines, and professional standards of practice in all aspects of clinical work.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Sciences and Disorders from an accredited institution.
  2. Valid license or registration as a Speech Therapist with the Allied Health Professions Council (AHPC) of Singapore.
  3. Clinical experience in diagnosing and treating speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders across the lifespan.
  4. Strong knowledge of assessment tools, therapeutic techniques, and intervention strategies relevant to speech therapy practice.
  5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members.
  6. Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced hospital environment while maintaining a high level of professionalism and compassion.
  7. Proficiency in relevant computer software and electronic medical records systems for documentation and data management.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Prior experience working in a hospital or healthcare setting, preferably in an acute care or rehabilitation setting.
  2. Specialized training or certification in areas such as dysphagia management, augmentative and alternative communication (AAC), or voice therapy.
