About the Company
Founded in 2021, LUCA is a Tokyo-based fintech company developing a platform to streamline private market investments. The platform enhances efficiency for wealth advisors and asset managers, enabling seamless transactions in private markets. In 2024, LUCA expanded with the establishment of LUCA SGP, which specializes in sourcing, vetting, and marketing private investment opportunities for the platform and its partners. As an innovative firm with a diverse team of professionals, LUCA is looking for a dynamic and driven Business Development Manager with a strong interest in alternative investments to join its Singapore-based team.
About the Role
The Business Development Manager will play a key role in expanding the firm's presence across Singapore and Japan. The candidate will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, cultivating relationships with institutional investors, and enhancing the firm's strategic partnerships, etc. The candidate will report to the Managing Director of LUCA SGP directly.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain a strong pipeline of potential distribution partners across East Asia (Japan, Korea, Taiwan) and Southeast Asia (Hong Kong, Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand). Focus on, but not limited to single-family offices, multi-family offices, brokers and Private banks
- Expand LUCA's distribution network by identifying, cultivating, and managing key relationships across the region. Strengthen existing partnerships by understanding distribution partners' client needs and aligning LUCA's products to provide tailored investment solutions.
- Collaborate with internal teams - including investment research, product development, and compliance - to develop customized investment solutions and create marketing materials that effectively address client demands.
- Support the execution of sales and marketing strategies, including roadshows, investor presentations, webinars, and conferences, to drive engagement and business growth.
- Independently manage client relationships, ensuring a high level of confidentiality and integrity in handling client information.
- Ensure full compliance with internal policies and external regulatory requirements, maintaining the firm's commitment to ethical and transparent business practices.
- Work closely with the Singapore and Japan teams to meet revenue targets and key performance indicators (KPIs) while contributing to the firm's overall growth strategy.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, business, or a related field. Relevant industry experience may be considered in place of a degree in these fields on a case-by-case basis.
- 3-5 years of experience in business development, sales, or client relations within a relevant financial sector. Note: This is not a senior sales or sales manager role.
- Proven ability to build and manage relationships with distribution channels for financial products.
- Self-motivated and driven, able to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment with minimal supervision.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills to engage effectively with clients and partners.
- In-depth knowledge of the Japanese market with excellent written and presentation skills in both Japanese and English will be a significant advantage
- Ability to adapt to evolving business environments and client needs.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
