Roles & Responsibilities

Skills and qualifications:

• Master degree in Geotechnical Engineering or Civil Engineering with majors in Geotechnics

• Min 5 years of professional relevant experience

• Good experience in geotechnical design with particular reference to soft compressible soils conditions

• Experience in soil improvement works, with particular reference to PVD and surcharge techniques is a

definite advantage

• Previous experience with dredging and land reclamation projects is an advantage

• General experience in geotechnical soil investigation and geotechnical tests interpretation, with particular

reference to CPT and advance testing for granular and cohesive soils

• Previous experience of site engineering problem solving is an advantage

• Proficient knowledge of geotechnical software such as Plaxis, Geoslope and similar. Previous

experience with geotechnical databases (Holebase in particular) and GIS software is an advantage

• Excellent level of English both oral and written

• Focused, with excellent problem solving skills, proactive, hands on attitude, able to meet tight deadline

under pressure.

• Good interpersonal skills and team player, able to establish good business relations with the client and

their consultants


Duties & responsibilities:

• Settlement analysis and calculations, including backfitting and consolidation analysis.

• Consolidations problems, soil improvement design using PVD and surcharge techniques. Slope stability

calculations. Bearing capacity calculations.

• Geotechnical data and soil interpretation for field and laboratory tests

• Site engineering problem solving, including site inspections

• Preparing (geo)technical reports and supervising the preparation of construction drawings

• Liaising and communicating with Operations/Construction, Sub-contractors and Client’s Consultant.

• Any other ad-hoc duties as assigned by the Supervisor.

• Reporting to the Engineering Manager
