Roles & Responsibilities

We are looking for a smart, dynamic, and energetic individual to join Vulcan Shield Global as a Finance Manager. The Finance Manager is responsible for effective management of all finance and accounting related functions. Drive a process improvement culture as key business partners to all other arms of the organization. Ensure the organization delivers on all reporting timelines and that all financial accounts are in line with the Accounting Policy Manual and local statutory requirements. Protect shareholders' interests and safeguard company's assets.

General Responsibilities

Strategic Financial Control

  • Implement and execute financial and accounting policies in accordance with country
  • standards/guidelines, local generally accepted accounting principles and statutory
  • requirements.
  • Ensure accurate and timely submission of statutory financial reports, company taxation and company secretarial matters.
  • Function as key financial advisor to the CEO on day to day controlling, tracking and analysis of financial performance against budgets, quarterly forecasts, and any other ad hoc targets relating to the Profit and Loss (P&L), investments, insurance, company accounting matters.
  • Ensure best practices are always pursued in all functions and processes to fully optimize
  • efficiencies and maximizing profitability.
  • Generate financial reports and analysis, providing insights and recommendations to
  • management for decision-making.
  • Assist with the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial projections.

Financial Analysis and Planning

  • Ensure proper bookkeeping and be responsible in driving the month-end closing procedure.
  • Create monthly financial reporting package to the CEO including variance analysis.
  • Be the financial representative to liaise with external parties, such as government authorities and auditors, tax agents, etc.
  • Authorize bank payment documents and monitor cash flow to ensure A/P and A/R are settled correctly and timely.
  • Organize and compile annual financial budgets and quarterly forecast updates.
  • Ensure investments acquired are accurately recorded and physically in place.
  • Ensure timeliness and accuracy in all related reports and responsibilities.
  • Conduct financial analysis, variance analysis, and profitability analysis to assess the company's financial performance.
  • Analyse financial data to identify trends, patterns, and areas for improvement.
  • Provide recommendations for cost reduction, revenue enhancement, and efficiency
  • improvement.

Compliance and Auditing

  • Ensure compliance with accounting principles, financial regulations, and internal policies.
  • Support internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and information.
  • Assist in the preparation of tax returns and compliance with tax laws.
  • Stay updated on changes in accounting standards and regulations, communicating any
  • impacts to management.

Financial Systems and Process Improvement

  • Utilize financial software and tools to facilitate accurate and efficient financial operations.
  • Identify areas for process improvement and implement streamlined financial processes and controls.
  • Enhance financial reporting and analysis capabilities by leveraging technology and
  • automation.
  • Participate in system implementations or upgrades related to finance and accounting
  • functions.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Collaborate with other departments, such as operations, sales, and human resources, to
  • ensure accurate and timely financial information exchange.
  • Provide financial insights and support for decision-making and strategic initiatives.
  • Work closely with external stakeholders, such as auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory bodies.

Job Experience & Requirements

Education

  • Degree in Accountancy recognized by the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Singapore or ACCA certification.

Experience

  • At least 5 years above experience in finance, accounting and administration of which at least 5 years in a managerial capacity.
  • Strong experience in competence in all legal and statutory accounting matters.
  • Strong experience in legal/statutory reporting (VAT, Tax etc) and legislative compliance
  • Advanced knowledge in FI, BPC and accounting with proven hands-on career experience
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel – Microsoft Office
  • Exposure to Alumina Continuous Fibre Products is an advantage.

Language

Good spoken and written English and Mandrin.
