Job Summary

As a Cloud Data Architect, you will play a pivotal role in designing, building, and optimizing scalable, secure, and cost-effective cloud-based data solutions. This is a full-time/contract, onsite position based in our Singapore office. Collaborating closely with stakeholders, including clients and internal teams, you will deliver robust data architectures that support analytics, reporting, and data-driven decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

  • Cloud Data Architecture:Design and implement cloud-based data architectures that are scalable, secure, and performance-optimized, addressing both current and future business needs.
  • Cloud Platform Expertise:Utilize leading cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) to build and deploy data pipelines, storage solutions, and advanced analytics systems.
  • Cloud Security and Networking:Implement and maintain robust cloud security measures, including encryption, identity and access management (IAM), network security, and firewalls. Ensure compliance with relevant security standards and frameworks such as ISO 27001, SOC 2, and GDPR.
    Manage and configure network security tools such as Virtual Private Cloud (VPC), firewalls, and VPNs across cloud platforms to secure data in transit and at rest.
  • Data Integration and Quality:Lead the design and execution of ETL/ELT processes, ensuring seamless integration of data from diverse sources while maintaining data quality, consistency, and accuracy.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:Partner with Data Engineers, Data Scientists, Business Analysts, and clients to align technical solutions with business requirements and objectives.
  • Performance and Cost Optimization:Continuously monitor and enhance the performance, scalability, and cost-efficiency of cloud data solutions, leveraging tools such as AWS CloudWatch, Azure Monitor, or Google Stackdriver to ensure adherence to industry best practices.
  • Data Governance:Develop and enforce robust data governance frameworks, including policies for data access, compliance, security, and disaster recovery.
  • Technology and Trend Evaluation:Stay informed about emerging technologies and market trends, recommending and implementing innovative tools and methodologies to enhance data architecture.
  • Comprehensive Documentation:Prepare and maintain detailed technical documentation, including architectural diagrams, to support solution implementation and ensure alignment among stakeholders.
  • Innovation and Client-Centric Solutions:Address evolving market demands and client challenges by developing creative, forward-thinking data solutions using modern technologies tailored to unique business needs.

Required Skills

  • Technical Skills:Expertise in database design, including relational (SQL) and non-relational (NoSQL) databases, as well as data modeling techniques.
    Advanced knowledge of data pipeline and orchestration tools, such as Apache Airflow, AWS Glue, and Azure Data Factory.
    Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala for data processing and system development.
    Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform and CloudFormation for streamlined deployment and scalability.
    Proven ability to design innovative and differentiated data strategies, aligning solutions with market trends and unique business needs.
    Strong creative problem-solving skills, capable of thinking outside the box to address complex technical and market challenges.
    Experience with cloud-native services such as AWS S3, Azure Blob Storage, or Google BigQuery.

    Cloud Security and Networking Expertise:Strong understanding of cloud security principles, including encryption, IAM, network security, and firewalls.
    Hands-on experience with cloud security tools such as AWS IAM, Azure Security Center, Google Cloud IAM, and firewall configurations.
    Knowledge and experience in setting up and managing Virtual Private Cloud (VPC), firewalls, and VPNs across cloud environments to secure data.
    Familiarity with security frameworks such as SOC 2, ISO 27001, and GDPR compliance.
  • Soft Skills:Exceptional problem-solving and analytical capabilities, with a results-driven approach to addressing technical and business challenges.
    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with technical teams, stakeholders, and clients.

Required Qualifications

  • Essential Qualifications:Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Preferred Qualifications:Cloud certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Data Engineer, or Google Professional Data Engineer.
    Security certifications such as AWS Certified Security – Specialty, Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP), or Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP).
    Certifications in Big Data technologies or data governance frameworks.
  • Experience:Minimum of 8 years of experience in data architecture, with at least 3 years specializing in cloud-based solutions.
    Hands-on experience with major cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
    Proven track record of designing and implementing data architectures that support analytics and reporting at scale.
  • Technical Expertise:Proficiency in database technologies, including SQL and NoSQL databases, and data modeling.
    Expertise in data pipeline tools like Apache Airflow, AWS Glue, and Azure Data Factory.
    Strong programming skills in Python, Java, or Scala.
    Experience with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation).
  • Core Competencies:Ability to design innovative, scalable, and secure data solutions aligned with business needs.
    Strong knowledge of data governance, compliance, and security best practices.
  • Additional Technical Skills:Familiarity with Big Data technologies like Hadoop, Spark, or Kafka.
