Roles & Responsibilities

Reponsibilities

• Can identify the classics (completely memorized, can reference / recite with ease and without error) and understand its evolution through today.
• Recognizes top leading fragrances, main chemical discoveries.
• Has sound chemical knowledge such as key functional groups, stability, interaction with bases and undesirable reactions, specific chemical parameters to consider.
• Has sound knowledge of raw materials.
• Builds understanding of technical challenges involved in formulations for fine and consumer products.
• Knows how to decode a fragrance structure to adapt to different categories.
• Builds understanding of the different Consumer Insights methodologies (qualitative and quantitative tests).
• Builds understanding of consumer fragrances marketing basic fundamentals.
• Develops awareness of market size, trends and segmentation.
• Is proficient in evaluation protocols & methods.
• Has experience in laboratory work both in application level and fragrance compounding
• Provides support to QC or is part of the QC panel.
• Knows how to use multiple ingredients.
• Demonstrates capability in presentation skills
• Understands and is able to articulate (internal) customer needs.

Basic Requirements

• Essential Background/ Academic Qualification:

1. Bachelor degree and chemistry understanding or background or
2. Diploma ISIPCA IFF Scent Design & Creation Program Masters Program
3. Affiliation or proven record of success in design, arts, marketing, or business preferred.

• Experience: Between 3 to 4 years of experience
• Languages: Fluent in English + any local language relevant for role
• Average time in position: 3 years (perfumery school)
