Roles & Responsibilities

Leadership

  • Develops, sets and drives - together with the team - the commercial BU strategy with clear targets, objectives and initiatives
  • Ensures alignment with the other BU’s strategy and further strengthens the Hub team as one
  • Responsible for having the commercial teams actively share their bids, offers, inquiries and confirmed businesses through the intended communication platforms
  • Ensure alignment with other disciplines in the BU on BU strategy
  • Responsible for the BU business results (incl. performance, growth, commercial staff development, positions and limits)
  • Resolves operational issues on the trade floor and implements sustainable/ tactical solutions in the BU
  • Coaches and drives the commercial team to accelerate our business while also interacting with suppliers, customers and other external stakeholders when more senior presence is desired
  • Acts as an example and display right 'tone at the top' behavior to motivate traders, to create an environment of trust and to encourage them to ‘go the extra mile’
  • Attracts world class talent to the BU trading team and aligns culture with (existing) Interfood values
  • Assures and encourages competency based development of commercial talent
  • Responsible for right commercial staffing in BU team


Position Management

  • Creates clear global market vision based on internal and external market info for all Business Units
  • Sets, together with the position holders, the BU outright direction, takes overall responsibility and makes sure these fall within the defined limits
  • Challenges the position holders to optimize the quality of their positions and drive sustainable growth.
  • Drives strategic direction of a position, by focusing on the right PMCs, and strategic supply alliances that contribute to our value propositions (e.g. hedgeable strategies, sustainability, etc.)
  • Attends Position Committee upon request and represents, in cooperation with product position holders, the BU market view and position targets
  • Responsible for guiding Hub traders meeting to ensure right strategy for Business Unit.
  • Responsible for accurate position reporting of BU


Business Development and Relationship Management

  • Maintains existing and develops new alliances with strategic suppliers and customers
  • Supports commercial team by developing and maintaining high level relationships with key accounts (strategic suppliers and customers) allowing them to be more successful in building new business and grow existing relationships
  • Maintains and builds multi-disciplinary relationships that support the business objectives
  • Identifies market opportunities (high level, market trends, macro) that can be translated into actual business by the broader commercial organization
  • Drives change and innovation across the Hub to assure our organization stays current and relevant with changing times


General Commercial

  • Responsible for accurate internal price reporting of BU
  • Optimizes deals by strong negotiating skills
  • Directs, controls and promotes communication of market information, best practices, trading opportunities, value propositions and other relevant information
  • Actively resolves NC's, and large BU NC's and support other traders resolving theirs
  • Validates accurate entry, proper follow up of contracts and assures an efficient contract flow

Education & working experience

  • Academic/bachelor background in a related field (e.g. financial or commercial economics)
  • At least 5 years of experience in trading commodity markets
  • Proven track record in building and managing a team of professionals
  • English + preferably one other language, both oral and written
