Role and Responsibilities

  • Proactively identify and assess potential risks across the entire organization, considering internal processes, external factors, industry regulations, and activities related to Operational Risk, inclusive of Outsourcing Risk and Business Continuity Management (BCM), and Technology Risk Management (TRM)
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive risk management plan that outlines strategies to mitigate or minimize the impact of identified risks.
  • Work collaboratively with various departments to implement risk mitigation controls, such as establishing safety protocols, purchasing insurance, or diversifying investments.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain a robust BCM program to ensure the organization's ability to recover from disruptive events with minimal downtime.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments to identify potential threats to business continuity, including those related to outsourcing, technology dependencies, and operational disruptions.
  • Develop and test business continuity plans to ensure effective response and recovery in the event of a disruption.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate environmental risks associated with the organization's operations, including those related to outsourced activities and third-party vendors.
  • Develop and implement environmental management plans to minimize the organization's environmental footprint and comply with relevant regulations.
  • Stay up-to-date on environmental regulations and ensure the organization adheres to best practices.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate technology-related risks, including cyber security threats, data breaches, system outages, and technology disruptions.
  • Develop and implement controls to safeguard the organization's technology infrastructure and data security.
  • Stay up-to-date on emerging technology risks and industry best practices.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels about potential risks, mitigation strategies, and the various Risk initiatives.
  • Prepare regular reports documenting the risk management process, its effectiveness, and program performance across all focus areas.
  • Ensure the organization adheres to relevant regulations and industry standards related to risk management
  • Develop and deliver training programs to educate employees on risk management best practices and risk mitigation strategies.

Key Requirements

  • Degree holder in relevant disciplines
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in risk management, ideally in banking industry
  • Strong understanding of risk identification, assessment, and mitigation strategies across various risk domains.
  • Experience in domains across Operational Risk, Outsourcing Risk, BCM and Technology Risk
  • Experience managing risks associated with outsourcing activities and technology infrastructure is preferred.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite
