Our client is currently seeking a Senior Professional Officer, Built Environment with expertise in Mechanical Engineering to join their team If you're a driven individual looking for a new career opportunity, read on

Key responsibilities for this role include:

  • Designing and teaching lab and practice modules.
  • Mentoring students on Capstone Projects and the Integrated Work Study Programme (IWSP).
  • Leading or co-leading innovation projects with industry partners.
  • Managing labs and equipment to support academic programs and applied research.
  • Ensuring safety standards are maintained in labs.

The ideal candidate should have the following qualifications and experience:

  • A degree in Building Services, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. A Masters, PhD, and/or professional certifications such as PE/CEng would be advantageous.
  • A technical expert with 15+ years of experience in mechanical systems within building services or facility design consultancy.
  • Preferred experience in both the design and management of mechanical building systems.
  • Proficiency with BIM software (e.g., Revit, AutoCAD, ArchiCAD) and developing BIM models. Knowledge of CAD software is also required.
  • Strong understanding of building services systems such as HVAC, refrigeration, lifts, heat exchangers, micro-climate simulations, fire-testing, and acoustics.
  • Prior experience in building and facility management is a plus.
  • Experience with materials properties, material testing, and fire testing would be advantageous.
  • Expertise in industry practices, with knowledge of Green Marking and energy management being a plus.
  • A strong interest in innovation and the ability to develop technical solutions to challenges.
  • Strong leadership skills, with a passion for mentoring students in an academic setting.
  • Committed to staying updated in the field and pursuing professional certifications.
