JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Producing video news stories - including but not limited to researching, writing, videography & editing - that are published on social media sites, including but not limited to Tiktok, Facebook, Youtube, Instagram as well as SDE platforms like websites and the app.
  • Conducting interviews with people of interest, including but not limited to public figures and experts in order to gather content for news stories.
  • Organizing and editing news stories to improve the viewing experience, consistency and clarity.
  • Conducting research to identify topics of interest to the target audiences.
  • Reporting live from location for breaking news stories and developing new leads for stories.
  • Transcribing interviews or other recordings in order to make them suitable for online publications like X (formerly known as Twitter) and as Fast Cycle content push.
  • Conducting research on topics related to current events or issues that are of interest to the target audience.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor degree or diploma in Journalism, Communications, Media Studies, or a related studies.
  • At least two years of work experience in digital journalism, news production, or a related role, particularly focused on producing video content for social media platforms.
  • Strong ability to research, script, film, and edit news stories for digital and social media channels like TikTok, Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, and specific company platforms.
  • Experience conducting interviews with a range of subjects, including public figures and experts, to gather content.
  • Ability to respond quickly to breaking news and identify fresh leads to develop compelling stories.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for engaging storytelling and conducting interviews effectively.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build relationships with interviewees, sources, and audiences.
