Job Purpose:

This is a hybrid position who is responsible for delivering the duties of a Fashion Advisor in engaging clients in the Boutique, with a focus in driving Visual Merchandising expertise and guidelines within the Boutique to animate and reinforce brand image through Boutique window & displays to create visual excitement from the clients.

Mission:

The primary responsibility of this role is to facilitate the creation and maintenance of Boutique windows and displays to showcase Chanel’s brand image and elevate client experience. The role will report directly to the Deputy Head of Boutique with a dotted line to the Visual Merchandising Manager. This role combines elements of a Fashion Advisor and a in-boutique Visual Merchandiser role, supporting our fashion boutiques.

o To serve as a custodian of the CHANEL image within the boutiques

o To ensure that Chanel’s fashion and image messages of Chanel are effectively communicated and maintained through Visual Merchandising and window displays.

o To remain constantly updated with the latest international and regional display guidelines, ensure high execution and consistency of brand’s image across all areas related to merchandise presentation throughout the boutiques.

Key Responsibilities:

The role will share in-boutique Visual Merchandising (50%) and Fashion Advisor (50%) responsibilities, delivering excellent customer experience and supporting both the Fashion and VM teams.

Client- facing responsibilities:

Sell a Style and a Dream & Build emotional connection with Customers and Brand (personality, lifestyle and brand heritage) by :

  • Serve all customers according to our Client Service Values and fulfill customers' needs through a heartfelt, flexible and tailor made service
  • Contribute to the Customer Satisfaction score of the Boutique
  • Generate sales & contribute to Boutique Performance by always thinking long term, teamwork and Brand.
  • Ensure highest standards in all aspect of the after sales service. Positive mindset, flexibility in understanding customer needs, accuracy in capturing data and timely follow up
  • Get to know client well enough to understand their style and offer relevant recommendation
  • Inspire clients to discover new ways of styling and share styling tips

Further engage the client of today and tomorrow :

  • Follow up on assigned client portfolio and retain relationship with client in the long term
  • Identify and engage new clients with potential
  • Build in depth client intelligence through accurate and qualitative client data capture

Visual merchandising responsibilities :

  • Implement visual merchandising policies, ensuring the House’s image of excellence and play an active part in the VM team.
  • Ensure the boutique VM standards are well maintained according to global guidelines and boutique needs.
  • Ensure constant product rotation in the boutiques through continuous dialog with retail and the relevant divisions (Communications, Marketing, Retail, Merchandising) teams.
  • To remain constantly updated with the latest international and regional display guidelines, ensure high execution and consistency of brand’s image in all areas related to merchandise presentation throughout the boutiques.
  • Close collaboration with boutique VM & office VM teams
  • Serve as the contact point in the boutique for VM related matters whenever the Boutique VM is unavailable.
  • Ensure the standards of VM in boutiques are always well projected and impeccable.
  • Conduct VM checks of the entire boutique interior and windows 2 to 3 times daily to ensure boutique displays are constantly well presented.
  • Work closely with VM Assistants and Boutique FAs to uphold daily VM maintenance and cultivate the importance of VM.

Person Specifications :

Academic / Professional Qualifications

  • Diploma or Degree holder, preferably in Art & Design or related discipline

Work Experience

  • Minimum 5 years relevant experience in retail sales and 3 years in in-store visual merchandising experience within the retail industry, preferably in the luxury sector
  • Strong knowledge of fashion, style and current visual merchandising trends
  • Aspired to progress towards a Visual merchandising expert in retail environment in near future

Required Competencies

  • Ability to build long lasting client relationship and convey the brand values and creation inspiration in client engaging ceremony
  • Outgoing and energetic personality with a creative eye. A team player who can perform in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator & Indesign. Microsoft Powerpoint, Excel.
  • Detail-oriented, self-motivated, able to work independently and in a team environment
  • Ability to enhance the visibility of Chanel fashion collections and contribute to the unique client experience at Chanel Flair with flair and agility
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills and fluency in both spoken/written English
  • Amenable working on roster arrangement basis, including weekends and public holidays and occasional night work as required
