Atala PRISM by Input Output Global (IOG) is a self-sovereign identity (SSI) platform and service suite for verifiable data and digital identity built on the Cardano blockchain. It offers the core infrastructure for issuing Decentralized Identifiers (DIDs) and Verifiable Credentials (VCs), alongside tools and frameworks to expand the ecosystem.As a Software Engineer in Test in the Atala PRISM team, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality of the platform through test planning, test case development, test automation, defect tracking, and test results reporting. You will collaborate with developers, product managers, and other team members to understand requirements and identify potential risks.With a strong understanding of SDLC processes and the QA lifecycle, you play a key role in development projects and are responsible for defining, tracking, coordinating, and conducting tests before product launches to ensure software runs smoothly and meets client needs.DutiesCollaborate with product management, project management, and development teams to develop testing objectivesReview and analyze system specificationsDesign and implement testing scenarios and scripts to address business and technical use casesUse existing tools and techniques to execute test cases and build/script new tools for performing testing/validation functionExecute automated test suites and analyze test resultsDesign and execute performance testsParticipate in troubleshooting and triaging of issues with different teams to drive toward root cause identification and resolutionDocument, track, and escalate issues as appropriateSupport production deployment of applicationsSupport technical services as escalation points for reported bugsKey CompetenciesA strong understanding of SDLC.The ability to lead and inspire a QA team, fostering a culture of quality throughout the development process.Expertise in designing and implementing effective test strategies, including automation frameworks and tools.Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with developers, product managers.The ability to analyze test results, identify root causes of defects, and propose solutionsExperience in defining and tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of the QA process.A commitment to continuous improvement of the QA process, staying up-to-date with emerging technologies and methodologies.High attention to detail and quality orientedStrong analytical skillsGood communication and people skillsGood interpersonal skillsWork autonomously with minimal supervisionStrong documentation skillsCustomer-oriented and user-friendly oriented mindsetEducation / ExperienceHigher degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or a related subject (Bachelor's or Above)Minimum of 3 years of experience in testing automationExperience in software engineering best practices and testing methodologiesExperience in setting up automation for integration and e2e tests from scratch would be a plusExperience with at least one of the JVM-based languages (Java, Kotlin, and/or Scala)Expertise in libraries, tools, and procedures for the execution and automation of various types of tests (e.g. unit tests, property tests, integration tests, end-to-end tests, UI tests, performance tests, security tests)Experience in API and end-to-end testingExperience in performance testingSecurity testing experience would be a plusExperience with databases (Postgresql, MongoDB)Understanding basic concepts in cryptography and digital identity would be a plusExperience with at least one scripting programming language, e.g. Python or Linux ShellExperience with Linux and MacOS operating systemsExperience with Git and GitHubExperience with continuous integration / continuous deployment (CI/CD)Experience working in an Agile setup (Scrum, Kanban)Flexible scheduleRemote workLaptop reimbursementNew starter package to buy hardware essentials (headphones, monitor, etc)Learning & Development opportunitiesCompetitive PTOMedical Benefits
