JobResponsibilities:

  • Implement and monitor effective teaching & learningpedagogies, intervention strategies for students with SpecialEducation Needs (SEN)
  • Design and implementvalid and reliable modes of assessment to evaluate students’progress and development.
  • Identify and designsupport structures to students with SEN
  • Workwith school leaders and management team to plan and implementschool-wide educational and recreational programmes
  • Collaborate and consult with allied professionals,parents/caregivers and external agencies to ensure quality supportand well-being of students
  • Responsible fordesigning, assessing and reviewing student-centric lessons withengaging approaches to accommodate individual learningstyles
  • Advocate to Heads of Departmentappropriate instructional learning resources to value add tostudents’ learning
  • Review and reinforcelearning activities using lesson plans and teaching strategies tohelp students to master concepts and skills
  • Implement the use of information technology in lessonpreparation and teaching to engage learners
  • Research and keep abreast of up-to-date subject knowledgeand design teaching resources in professional learningteams
  • Supervise students and manage pupilbehaviours in the classroom and on school premises to inculcateschool values and enforce discipline
  • Documentconcerns of students to facilitate problem solving with parents andprofessional support staff
  • ConductParent-Teacher Conferencing to discuss students’ strengths,weaknesses and identify areas of focus to support IEP goals andtransition
  • Provide information to parents forhome-school communications to support students’ progress
  • Make home visits for students with high support needs andcraft intervention strategies to meet student social and emotionalneeds
  • Establish work plan priorities to meetschool strategic thrusts
  • Actively involved instaff meetings, co-curricular activities, educational conferences,and school programs.
  • Participate in parents’evenings and school-wide training events to promote home-schoolpartnership.
  • Participate in organizing schoolevents, including sporting events, learning journey and otherexcursions like camping trips and educational tours.

JobRequirements:

  • Diploma/ Degree from recognised Polytechnics andUniversities with GCE ‘O’ level credits in English andMathematics
  • Prior experience with Studentswith Mid Intellectual Disabilities (MID) is preferred
  • Specific subject knowledge, knowledge in special needseducation and behaviour modification, Microsoft office (Excel,Powerpoint, Word)
  • Interpersonal skills,classroom management skills, takes Initiative, effectivecommunication Strong in verbal and written English
  • Prior experience handling Numeracy/ Literacy, PhysicalEducation, WPLN, Science, HSR, SEL/ CCE and Vocational Guidance isan added advantage.
  • Candidates with recognisedDiploma in Special Education, Diploma/ Degree in Education or PostGraduate Diploma in Education will qualify for Trained Teacherposition.
  • Position and remuneration packagewill commensurate with relevant experience andqualifications
