Roles & Responsibilities

Work Schedule: Mon - Fri, 9am - 6pmLocation: Woodlands & TampinesDuration: Tentatively 1 year & RenewableSalary Structure: Basic + AWS

Responsibilities:

HSE Policy Development and Implementation

  • Develop, implement, and maintain Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies and procedures in compliance with local regulations and industry standards.
  • Ensure alignment with company policies and international best practices, specifically for the electronic gases industry.

Risk Assessment and Hazard Control

  • Conduct comprehensive risk assessments to identify potential hazards and develop strategies for mitigation.
  • Oversee the safe handling, storage, and transportation of hazardous substances in line with industry regulations.
  • Perform regular site inspections and audits to ensure adherence to safety protocols and address non-compliance issues promptly.

Regulatory Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with local government standards and requirements for hazardous substances and safety practices.
  • Prepare and maintain documentation for regulatory reporting and ensure the workforce is aligned with legal requirements.

Incident Management

  • Investigate workplace incidents, near-misses, and accidents, focusing on root cause analysis.
  • Provide detailed reports and recommendations to prevent recurrence and improve workplace safety.

Training and Certification

  • Conduct HSE training sessions for employees, contractors, and vendors with a focus on hazardous substances and emergency response.
  • Ensure the workforce meets the safety competency levels required for working in the electronic gases industry.

Emergency Preparedness and Response

  • Develop and implement emergency response plans, particularly for handling hazardous substances and chemical incidents.
  • Organize regular drills to test readiness and update protocols based on feedback and evaluations.

Performance Monitoring and Continuous Improvement

  • Monitor HSE performance metrics, such as compliance rates and incident statistics, to identify areas of improvement.
  • Collaborate with project managers to implement proactive safety measures and foster a culture of safety excellence.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Mandatory Certification: Certificate in Safety, Health, and Environmental (SHE).
  • Preferred Certification: Certificate in Manage Hazardous Substances or other relevant safety certifications.
  • Over 8 years of experience in safety management, preferably in the electronic gases, Chemical or related industries.
  • Strong understanding of HSE management systems and local government standards, with specific expertise in managing hazardous substances.
  • Diploma or higher education in a relevant field, with proficiency in written and spoken English.
  • Skilled in Office software (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Clear thinking, excellent communication skills, and strong organizational abilities.
