Senior Network Engineer [L2 – L3: SG (In-Office) & Global (Remote) Support]


More Information:

  • Company: Government related organization (supporting internal end-users)

  • Working Hours: Monday – Friday (usually, 9 AM – 6 PM)

[However, from time-to-time, required to commit to staggered working hours: 7.30 AM – 4.30 PM or 9 AM – 6 PM or 10.30 AM – 7.30 PM as and when required to or on rotating-basis]

Responsibilities:

  • Administering the Network Equipment (Level 1 – Level 2) including followings (but not limited to) followings:
  1. Checking the logs & network links on daily basis (to ensure no abnormalities),
  2. Troubleshooting and managing incidents to resolve Network Issues,
  3. Performing routine backup of Network configuration (for network equipment) including firewall rules,
  4. Fine-tuning of Network & System parameters,
  5. Installation, Maintenance, Troubleshooting, Upgrading & Documentation of firmware, hardware and software used,
  6. Managing Firewall rule settings & security configurations,
  7. Managing IP Addresses & assignment schemes,
  8. Patching & re-patching of cables, network points and other network equipment,
  9. Applying software & security patches,
  10. Labelling of Cables, patch panels, racks & equipment,
  11. Performing NAC ClearPass administration processes
  12. Enforce physical access controls (to the network room & equipment)
  • Other relevant duties as assigned


Requirements:

  • Diploma or Bachelor in IT/ Computer Science or relevant Education
  • Required to have minimum 5 years (or longer) technical hands-on working experiences as a Network Engineer (L2 – L3) in Networking (i.e.: Configuring & troubleshooting with Firewalls, Router & Switches, Intrusion Detection/ Protection Systems, LAN/ WAN implementations, etc.)
  • Good to be proficient in many of the following areas (L2 – L3):
  1. Network technologies and protocols
  2. Network configuration, utilization and performance monitoring
  3. Network fine-tunings, incident troubleshooting, interpretations of statistics and traffic pattern
  4. Firewall rules configuration and security setting and
  5. IDS/ IPS, CDN implementation and IPv6.
  • Comfortable and willing to travel to overseas (global) branches/ offices (in case of routine system upgrades or emergencies matters)
  • Comfortable and able to provide Stand-by & OT Support, on rotating basis or as and when required to
  • Required to have at least one (or more) of the following certifications: CCNA, CCNP, CCNE, etc.
