Senior / Mechanical Engineers

Our Client produces, develops, markets, delivers, commissions, and services heavy plant equipment (process-type vessels with pumps and mechanical automated handling systems) for the wood industry worldwide.


Main Job Responsibilities and Requirements

The candidate - Mechanical process engineer. Those with more years of relevant experience maybe considered for the senior position.

  • Is fluent in written and spoken English
  • Must be willing to travel for up to an estimated 90-120 days a year and more when production and sales are increasing. Project assignments overseas are mostly for 1 - 3 weeks per project, which can vary.
  • Is characterized by a significant and decisive drive and can easily acquire new knowledge and implement it and willing to openly support daily and assist the owners to develop the company.
  • Quality checking equipment provided by subcontractors at Client´s Production Units in Southeast Asia (and elsewhere as needed and developments in the company are taking place).
  • Full FAT of plant equipment at the Client´s Production Units before shipping and responsible for immediate reporting to Clients of all types of mistakes and errors, the report to Clients must be with no delay and implement efficiently and according to instructions promptly corrections in production during FAT test and reporting to Clients with all details before shipment of the turn-key projects.
  • Making sure that plants leave factories turn-key FAT tested well functionning.
  • Commissioning and start-up at the customer’s site, all will be reported first and alone to the Clients before anyone else on-site or elsewhere whereafter decisions are made by Clients he implements the decisions.
  • Make sure that production and installation is running smoothly, receiving parts in time, reception control of parts, and test of parts. Responsibility for all drawings on the base of draft or oral design ideas of Clients of skids-based solutions, pressure vessels and storage tanks, material handling and new developments, both drawings and corrections for production purposes and for sales purposes.
  • As customers and production must not be kept waiting for these, the focus must be to deliver shortly for instance same morning or afternoon as the mechanical engineer receives the requirement for the drawing.
  • It is important to keep production running and also customers must receive rapid solutions accepted by Client.
  • Quality checking of received mechanical documentation from subcontractors.
  • Preparation of mechanical documentation for the individual projects.
  • Support sales by reviewing technical specifications and customer requirements, and be heavily involved in commissioning/start-up, troubleshooting, optimization of systems world-wide but primarily in North America and Oceania and flexible in other geographical places. Technical sparring with Clients in and around the individual projects will be a natural part of the everyday life.
  • Has experience with process engineering systems and customized solutions.
  • Flexible, self going, reportative/daily reporting, self motivating, positive and openminded in all daily communication with Clients.
  • Is characterized by a significant and decisive drive and can easily acquire new knowledge and implement it in communication with the Clients
  • Flexible in all respects to follow the Clients so that the production and sales of the company is running in the necessary speed to increase volumes
  • Is structured, detail-, action- and process-oriented, can find solutions and suggest decisions to Clients and navigate professionally in a hectic environment.
  • The candidate must be easy to work with and thrive in close and present cooperation with Clients overseas. It is expected that the candidate is a team player with a positive attitude and proactive approach to work, which includes contributes to ensuring progress and "flow" in the projects.
  • Positive in dialogue every day and in a constructive way
  • Both production and installation jobs are to be respected timewise and holidays must be coordinated to fit the production and installation jobs at customers sites.
  • In order to work daily with the Clients who are normally in Europe or USA or Asia, the work time must be coordinated to fit a start in the morning European time etc.
