Responsibilities

  • Conducting meetings with Japanese clients based in Singapore and their head offices in Japan;
  • Working with senior bankers to originate mandates by conducting market and industry analysis and evaluating and analyzing the financial needs of clients and any other applicable quantitative and qualitative analysis;
  • Identifying and developing business opportunities and assisting in client relationship development;
  • Assisting seniors and managing juniors in executing M&A transactions by acting as project coordinator, due diligence and valuation manager;
  • Drafting documentations including engagement letters, bid letters, marketing materials (e.g. teasers, process letters and information memorandums);
  • Training and supervising analysts and associates

Requirements

  • Minimum 7 years of working in an Investment Bank with M&A advisory and execution related experience (i.e. valuation, due diligence), dealing with Japan based clients
  • Minimum Master’s degree from an accredited university
  • Fluency / strong communication skills in Japanese, written and spoken, as this individual will need to work regularly and efficiently with Japanese stakeholders across the business and clientele
  • Track record of ability to build and maintain relationships, including at a senior management level, with subsidiaries of Japan corporates across Singapore/South East Asia, bridging Japan products to Singapore and SEA clients
  • Advanced financial modelling and financial analytical skills;
  • Advanced Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint);
  • A high level of attention to detail and strong organizational / multi-tasking skills;
  • The ability to excel under pressure amid demanding deadlines and perform effectively in a team environment;
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly adapt to new situations;
  • A strong sense of personal integrity and teamwork;
