Roles And Responsibilities
  • Communicate assessment results, therapy plans, goals and outcome measures to clients and other relevant stakeholders
  • Communicate intervention plans, client statuses and discharge criteria to clients and relevant stakeholders
  • Conduct assessment of clients' environment
  • Conduct clinical auditsConduct functional assessment to determine required therapy interventions
  • Conduct safety and quality audits
  • Coordinate with relevant parties to support clients in achieving their treatment goals
  • Deliver appropriate interventions to facilitate clients' occupational performance based on findings, goals and treatment plans
  • Deliver community integration training to clients
  • Deliver training or in-service to colleagues
  • Develop client and caregiver educational materials
  • Document results of case history taking, assessment results, therapy plans, goals and outcome measures through selfmanagement strategies
  • Evaluate teaching outcomes at personal level
  • Evaluate therapy progress and outcomes using selected therapy outcome measures at regular intervals
  • Formulate client-centred and SMART (Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant, Timely) goals in collaboration with client and relevant stakeholders
  • Formulate discharge or care plans in consultation with relevant stakeholders
  • Identify risks pertaining to workplace health and safety
  • Implement preventative measures pertaining to risk management
  • Mentor support staff and conditionally-registered therapists for professional development purposes
  • Modify therapy plans based on client motivation, safety, as well as therapy outcome measures collected
  • Oversee inventory management processes
  • Participate in quality improvement projects
  • Participate in research projects to contribute to evidence-based practice guidelines
  • Participate in the development of clinical practice guidelines
  • Participate in the development, promotion or marketing of new clinical services
  • Perform peer audits on compliance to clinical standards
  • Plan induction and clinical orientation for new team members
  • Plan therapy interventions based on medical condition(s), indications and contraindications
  • Propose environmental modifications based on clients' needs and safety considerations
  • Provide clinical supervision for students
  • Provide clinical supervision for support staff and therapists on conditional registration
  • Recommend assistive devices and equipment
  • Respond to incidents in compliance with organisation's incident management guidelines
  • Review client case notes, take client history and interpret assessment results
  • Review continuity of care plans
  • Select appropriate and specific outcome measures to enable evaluation of therapy progress and outcomes
  • Train clients in the use of orthoses and assistive devices
