Key Accountabilities:

As part of a small team of Data Stewards, reporting to the Team Leader and working within a data governance framework, the Data Steward is responsible for ensuring the integrity, completeness, and usability of investment data in Aladdin and the Data Management Platform.

The role involves:

  • Creating and maintaining new securities in Aladdin.
  • Monitoring and ensuring data integrity in Aladdin.
  • Managing and resolving data exceptions.
  • Supporting ad-hoc queries related to security analytics, static data, pricing, etc., for front office teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Daily validation of security and benchmark data integrity.
  • Resolving exceptions to maintain data accuracy.
  • Setting up and maintaining benchmarks in Aladdin and Data Management Platform.
  • Onboarding new market data (e.g., market indexes, unsupported data).
  • Maintaining governance for specific custom data (e.g., internal ratings, customized sectors).
  • Updating and documenting standard operating procedures (SOPs) with new releases.
  • Contributing to change requests, business initiatives, and requirement documents.
  • Ensuring all new procedures are well-documented and agreed upon.

Skills and Experience:

  • Educational Background: Degree in Business, Finance, or related fields.
  • Industry Knowledge: In-depth understanding of a wide variety of tradable financial instruments.
  • Analytical and Communication Skills: Strong abilities in data analysis and effective communication.
  • Data Management Experience: Proven experience in data management within a large banking institution, especially in the Investment Services sector.
  • Investment Platform Knowledge: Prior experience with investment platforms, with a preference for familiarity with Blackrock.
  • Programming Skills: Knowledge of R and Python programming languages is a plus.
  • Financial Operations Understanding: Strong understanding of Front Office, Trade Lifecycle, and Operations processes, as well as data management governance frameworks.
  • Vendor System Expertise: Working knowledge of major data vendor systems such as Bloomberg, Reuters, and S&P.
  • Attention to Detail: Excellent customer focus with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Team Collaboration: Proven ability to collaborate effectively within a small team.
