Roles & Responsibilities


Job Responsibilities

  • Search available products to find the best combination of quality, price, and delivery
  • Negotiate policies and contracts with various suppliers
  • Issue purchase orders to suppliers
  • Manage deliveries to confirm compliance with contracts
  • Monitor stock levels and verify purchase requisitions
  • Manage any damaged or defective goods from suppliers
  • Interact with suppliers on a day-to-day basis
  • Review deliveries against the orders and track the status of any orders
  • Keep detailed records and prepare and submit necessary reports
  • Maintain professional relationships with all key suppliers
  • Perform cost down exercises to achieve cost down targets

Job Requirements

  • Diploma / ITE in Supply Chain Management, Purchasing, or a related field
  • At least 2 years of experience in a purchasing / buyer role in the Maritime / Service Industry will be an advantage
  • Experience in vendor sourcing practices will be an advantage
  • Hands-on experience with purchasing software (e.g. Navision / Biz Central 365)
  • Understanding of supply chain procedures
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and persuasion skills
  • Analytical and mathematical capabilities to compare prices and quantities and consider vendor contract terms
