About our group:

PCBA Test Development Team is responsible to provide PCBA Test solution to ensure the electronic controller boards performs and delivers as per the overall product specification. Will be working closely with Design Engineering as well as Firmware team to develop necessary features in special Firmware that will enable testing the electronic boards with maximum test coverage with minimum test time.

This role offers a unique opportunity to be part of an innovative team, reporting to an Engineering Director.

About the role - you will:

As a Test Development Engineer, you will work closely with seasoned professional who will provide comprehensive training in PCBA Test environment and Firmware architecture.

  • Modify Drive controller code as well as Drive servo code (Firmware) to align to test environment in electronic simulation without using mechanical subassemblies.
  • Sample Preparation: Create sample modified Controller code & Servo code and compile into a device downloadable bin file.
  • Correlation Studies: Develop and run standard test sequence to verify a Known Good Board passes all tests. Add or remove additional tests as necessary for unique subsection of the electronics from the standard test sequence.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with teams from Design engineering, Firmware development, Quality assurance (QA), and Supplier quality engineering (SQE) on Test development, Field failure analysis to enhance test coverage as well as test time optimization for better productivity.

Your experience includes:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electronics or Software Engineering.
  • Knowledge of basic electronics circuits.
  • Programming experience in C/C++ in Windows and Fedora/Centos OS
  • Familiarity with S/W tools : GNU C compiler, SlickEdit, Perforce, QT Creator, CodeWrigh, CrossVC, WinSCP, YASPP, PyScripter, Eclipse, Git, SourceTree, MobaXterm, JIRA etc
  • Knowledge of Linux device driver coding, Python will be added advantage

The Shugart site (named after Seagate's founder, Al Shugart) is a research and design center.
