Roles & Responsibilities

JOB PURPOSE

KYAN Technologies is seeking a Biotechnologist to perform laboratory duties in our clinical laboratory in Singapore. The Biotechnologist will be responsible for tissue culture, drug treatment, cell viability experiments and maintenance of general laboratory tasks.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

· Conduct tissue culture experiments including accurate preparation of media reagents and components and maintenance of established commercial cell lines and/or patient cells.

· Process and dissociate patient samples, both from blood and solid sources, for downstream experiments.

· Perform drug treatments for cell culture; reconstitution and preparation of drug stocks as well as preparation of drug treatments using an automated liquid handling system.

· Carry out cell viability assays using a microplate reader.

· Prepare key items integral to workflow (eg. Drug plates) while adhering to manufacturing standards.

· General laboratory tasks, including maintenance of laboratory work area, equipment and inventory management.

· Adhere to laboratory safety, quality controls and ensure compliance with applicable regulations and standards.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS

· Preferred bachelor's degree in biology or related field.

· Applicants with basic tissue culture techniques. Prior experience processing patient samples is an advantage.

· Willingness to learn different instruments and programs in the laboratory.

· Able to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.

· Able to work in a fast-paced, start-up environment.

· Applicant must be willing and able to work on a flexible work schedule (Monday-Friday) and some weekends, to meet demands of our clinical laboratory.
