EM Strategic Programs Director

The role combines strategy and operations, requiring interactions with GMs, EMLT, ComOps members, and Therapeutic Area Heads across EM to support strategic projects with key EM markets and enabling functions.
Responsibilities include building key meeting summary documents, following up on key actions post-meetings, organizing the ComOps Head calendar accordingly, creating and orchestrating business agendas, and organizing and facilitating ComOps meetings virtual or face to face, and logistics for the ComOpsLT. The role also involves driving core principles and discipline of project management within the EM business, supporting EM leadership and their teams in ensuring clarity and alignment of group priorities and activities to EM strategic goals and objectives across regions, therapeutic area groups, channel leads, and service groups. Additionally, the role includes effectively managing projects, tracking and facilitating progress of key initiatives, proactively managing risks and issues across groups, and helping standardize processes across the EM organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Project leadership through the EM matrix and broader enterprise functions (Therapeutical Areas, Medical, Regulatory, Legal, Compliance, etc.)
- Tracking and communication of EM strategy progress via dashboards and action plans
- Ensuring that decisions and processes are captured centrally and retained to aid corporate memory
- Proactively communicating meeting outcomes and tracking the execution of agreed next steps
- Project-managing and delivering business-critical innovation and digital projects
- Enabling step changes in digital, data, and analytics (DDA) across the EM business to drive growth, performance, and customer engagement
- Owning and driving issue identification and resolution regarding EM Business Operations topics
- Helping resolve conflicts in an objective manner
- Managing ComOps budget and ensuring meetings follow compliance standards
- Creating PPT presentations for ComOps head for future internal and external meetings
- Developing and implementing strategic programs that align with the company's objectives and goals
- Providing leadership and guidance to project teams, ensuring the timely and successful completion of projects
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify and address key issues and obstacles, ensuring the smooth execution of strategic initiatives
- Conducting regular analysis and evaluation of program performance, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing necessary changes
- Monitoring and managing program budgets, ensuring effective resource allocation and cost control1
- Establishing and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders, both internal and external, to ensure program success
- Overseeing the development of program documentation, including project plans, reports, and presentations.
Skills, Knowledge, and Experience
- Min 5 years of commercial experience in pharma sector
- Min 5 years of experience in commercial leadership in pharma sector
- Min 3 years of experience in managing stakeholder with business acumen
- Degree in Science, Medical or Commercial
- Demonstrated leadership and strong expertise in project management/process design
- Demonstrated ability to organize and bring structure into highly complex projects
- Working knowledge of GSK key global, regional, and local functions
- Track record of establishing effective working relationships with all stakeholders (especially senior managers and above-country representatives) and anticipating their needs when creating project solutions
