As an Occupational Therapist, you play a crucial role in the healthcare team by addressing the biopsychosocial challenges and limitations that often accompany ageing. Your role is also to enhance the overall well-being and functional independence of elderly individuals by addressing the sensorimotor, cognitive-perceptual and psychosocial changes that often accompany ageing.


Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate clinical history and conduct client assessment and outcome measures inline with the programme service requirements and good clinical standards.
  • Develop client centered and SMART goals, and treatment plans based on client’s medical condition, evidence-based guidelines and best practices.
  • Provide appropriate occupational therapy interventions and client education, including:
  1. Conduct community integration, environmental modifications, dementia care, and ADL training.
  2. According to participant’s needs: Plan, conduct or supervise, and evaluate individual and group physical activity and exercise programmes, OR plan individual and group therapeutic activities for Programme Assistants [PA] and/or volunteers to conduct.
  3. Conduct education and training for caregivers.
  4. Conduct home therapy when required.
  5. Assist in implementing new clinical services/ therapy.
  6. Participate in continuing education and research including delivering in-service training for staff and volunteers and participating in quality improvement initiatives.
  7. Maintain documentation of client’s progress and outcomes of care.
  8. Provide teaching or training for the Foundation’s services.
  9. Be deployed to/ rotated to provide OT services among the programmes in the foundation.
  10. Other duties as directed by the HOP and/or Lead Therapist include service and quality improvement projects, providing inservice, mentoring and supervision of support staff, etc.

Education/Professional Qualifications

  • Registered with the Allied Health Professionals Council. (Full Registration).
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience as an occupational therapist. Experience working with seniors with dementia will be an advantage.

Salary range is indicative and will be commensurate with qualification and experience.
