Job Summary
You will be supporting preschool teachers and children with learning and developmental needs within the classroom setting. Some of the key responsibilities include:
- Using prescribed screening tools to screen children referred by preschool teachers for learning and developmental issues
- Presenting screening outcomes to Paediatricians and the therapy teams at Case Filter Meetings
- Working collaboratively with teachers, therapists, caregivers and professionals to provide support for children with mild developmental needs
- Working out the individual education plan (IEP) for the children
- Supporting therapy teams by embedding the therapy goals into the classroom curriculum
- Conducting intervention through support packages to children
- Providing in-class support to children who have received intervention packages
- Ensuring goals set are achieved during sessions with the children and are generalised into the classroom
- Completing End-of-Intervention (EOI) report at closure of case
Requirements:
- Specialist Diploma in Early Childhood Learning Support (SDELS)
- Diploma in Early Childhood Education or equivalent
- Min. 2 years of relevant experience
- Possess excellent interpersonal skills
- Initiative and ability to work independently and yet be a good team player
