JOB SUMMARY
  • Responsible for supporting the Global Credit Card BalanceGrowth strategies within the context of the wider global CreditCards & Personal Loans (CCPL) strategy. This role will workclosely with Group, Region and Country level stakeholders to design& implement balance growth and yield enhancement strategies tooptimise financial and non financial results on the Existing toProduct (ETP) global credit cardportfolio.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategy

  • The role holder is responsible for leading thedevelopment of global Credit Card Portfolio Optimization strategiesfor Existing to Product ("ETP") customers within the context of thewider global Credit Cards & Personal Loans ("CCPL")strategy.
  • This includes agreeing thesestrategies with the relevant group, region and country levelstakeholders, along with associated financial and non-financialtargets and periodically reviewing performance against thesetargets in line with the Group's performance managementframework.
  • Country CCPL GMs are accountablefor the CC ETP portfolio profitability and performance and the roleholder is concurrently held accountable for the creation andimplementation, as well as, financial and non-financial results ofthe recommended balance growth and pricing strategies foroptimizing returns on the ETP global credit cardportfolio.

Business

Therole holder is accountable for developing, socializing and helpingdrive implementation of strategies for ETP Credit Card Portfolioreturns, and for delivery technologies that satisfy the needs ofthe business, and are in compliance with all applicable regulatoryrequirements, including:
  • Leveragingadvanced analytics and collaborating with risk teams to providethought leadership on risk and pricing frameworks to enable marketsto deploy portfolio management strategies that are EVA accretiveand within risk appetite.
  • Leveraging analyticsand risk management teams and collaborating with regional andcountry teams to track portfolio performance at a granular leveland identify opportunities for performance enhancement.
  • Drive EVA accretive interest- bearing balance growth bysetting portfolio standards and providing life cycle portfoliomanagement tools including but not limited to cash transfers,balance transfers, EMI conversions of high value spends within andoutside limits, credit limit increase etc.
  • Conceptualize and work with technology and digital teamsto deliver seamless sale and fulfilment of thesefeatures.
  • Work closely with advancedanalytics, risk and campaign delivery teams to ensureimplementation, and an experimental test and learn environment toconstantly enhance the impact of these strategies.
  • Recommend and socialize enhancements to customer valuepropositions, product and pricing to ensure existing productprofitability is in line with grouphurdles.

Processes
Therole holder is responsible for:
  • Engagement with group policy owners and/or risk controlowners for the implementation of policies and control standards setby them.
  • Ensuring appropriate procedures andcontrols are in place to operate within the group credit andoperational risk tolerance and appetite.
  • Defining and driving global (versus local) regulatory andcompliance standards for managing CC ETP customer strategic /campaign interventions, and working closely with markets to ensurethey are met.
  • Building the right conductculture in managing ETP CC customer return optimization programinitiatives.
  • Deliver a framework for CCportfolio granular returns measurement to identify and act uponopportunities for return optimization, in compliance with all laws,regulations, rules, policies and the group conductframework.

  • Leadthrough example and build the appropriate culture and values. Setappropriate tone and expectations of and work in collaboration withpartners.
  • Ensure holders of all criticalfunctions are suitably skilled and qualified for their roles,including effective supervision in place to mitigate anyrisks.

RiskManagement
  • Collaboratively partner with risk teams to ensure riskmanagement procedures and processes are effectively implemented tooperate within operational and credit risk appetite.
  • Partner with country CCPL teams for a robust riskmanagement environment by identifying key risks and issues andensuring effective mitigating measures and controls areimplemented.
  • Work collaboratively withcountries and functions to ensure any audit findings are suitablyrectified, as it relates to their areas of portfoliointervention.

Governance
  • Develop and implement a clear structure of accountabilityto ensure cross functional team members can perform their rolessuccessfully and there is clear oversight and decision making,including by relevant Committees.
  • Takeresponsibility for assessing the effectiveness of arrangements todeliver effective governance, oversight and controls in business,and if necessary, oversee change in these areas.
  • Maintain an awareness and understanding of the regulatoryframework in which the firm operates, and the regulatoryrequirements and expectations relevant to the role.
  • Work with regulators in an open and cooperativemanner.

Our IdealCandidate
  • UniversityGraduate / MBA preferred.
  • 8+ years financialservices experience, with 5+ years in Cards, Retail Banking orPayments.
  • Credit card portfolio managementexperience and/or lending portfolio management
  • Strong understanding of analytics and solid numericalskills
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Positive attitude, high energy, willingness to challengestatus quo, ability to work under pressure and to toughdeadlines
