Roles & Responsibilities

Job Summary:

This position reports to the Test Manager and is responsible for setting up the test capability in the company and working with customers on Test Program Implementation and test process development for new products. Other responsibilities include interfacing with customers on product offloads and providing support on test capabilities and barriers/constraint; supporting test hardware design and development for engineering activities and production ramp-up; and performing required test correlation, evaluation, and test characterization on new product offloads.

As a Test Process Engineer, you will test features on the semiconductor chips produced for internal and external customers. You will work closely with design to make sure the chip features are testable and that the results meet the customer's specifications. The job may require you to write new code or develop new testing strategies when the chips outpace the capabilities of current testing equipment.

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Assess test platform alternatives to select the most effective and economical solution for production testing of new products.
  • Investigating and isolating test issues from test tool & product issues and resolving them in a timely manner.
  • ATE test program development and implementation for new products (Production and Characterization Test)
  • Test Hardware (final test loadboard and wafersort probecard) design and development for engineering activities and production ramp-up.
  • Perform characterization testing, prepare test specifications, define tests, conditions, criteria, etc.
  • Solid digital, analog and mixed-signal programming experience on ATE using C or VB language and scripting.
  • Automate test process by writing software scripts to improve work efficiency.
  • Monitor and manage production test yields, maverick lots, engineering lots.
  • Hands-on test debugging, RMA analysis and improving test solutions (Hardware and Software)
  • Work with product designer and DFT engineer to ensure smooth product bring-up.
  • Responsible for overseeing product reliability stresses and test results.
  • Provide ongoing optimization and enhancements to existing test programs to improve yields.
  • Any other ad-hoc duties as assigned.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

  • Minimum bachelor's degree in electrical and electronic engineering.
  • 5 years or more of experience in automated testing roles, implementing low noise mixed signal, analog and digital electronic circuits. RF and HBM testing are preferred.
  • Familiar with the Advantest, Teradyne, Cohu testers and JTAG (Joint Test Action Group).
  • Familiar with TEL, Accretech, SEMICS prober operation and Turret, PnP handler.
  • Experience with product characterization, parameter testing and hardware design.
  • Skill in programming/scripting (C language or Perl or Python).
  • Demonstrate excellent written and communication skills.
  • Demonstrate project management, teamwork, and leadership skills necessary for successful project completion.
  • Able to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment with lots of ambiguity.
