HOYA Electronics' primary focus is on the development of optical and extreme ultraviolet (EUV) photomask blanks, which are critical components in the manufacturing process of the latest-generation chips used in various applications such as artificial intelligence, high-performance computing, and 5G. Get to Know the Role

The role involves maintaining and enhancing Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) and other production-related software, optimizing semiconductor manufacturing processes, and troubleshooting software issues to minimize downtime. It also includes developing and supporting business applications for office operations, ensuring data security, and compliance. The position requires designing custom software solutions, integrating them with existing IT infrastructure, and working with PLC systems, IoT devices, and cloud-based solutions. Collaboration with global teams and cross-functional projects is essential, along with providing training and support to end users on software tools and systems.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Production System Support
    • Maintain and enhance Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) and other production-related software.
    • Work closely with engineering and operations teams to optimize software for semiconductor manufacturing processes.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve software-related production issues to minimize downtime.
    • Ensure software meets industry standards and supports high-quality production.
  • Office & IT Support
    • Develop, maintain, and enhance business applications for office operations.
    • Collaborate with internal teams to improve workflow automation and data management systems.
    • Provide software support for ERP and other enterprise tools used in the office environment.
    • Ensure data security and compliance with corporate and industry standards.
  • Software Development & Integration
    • Design, develop, and deploy custom software solutions to enhance productivity.
    • Integrate production and office software with existing IT infrastructure.
    • Work with PLC systems, IoT devices, and cloud-based solutions where necessary.
    • Conduct software testing, debugging, and documentation.
  • Collaboration & Communication
    • Work with global teams (including Japan or partners) to align software solutions with corporate needs.
    • Support cross-functional projects that involve engineering, IT, and production teams.
    • Provide training and support to end users on software tools and systems.

Skills and Competencies Profile

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in software development, IT support, or manufacturing systems.
  • Strong knowledge of VB.Net, C++, Java, Python, or other programming languages.
  • Experience with databases (SQL, Oracle), cloud platforms (Azure), and API development.
  • Understanding of semiconductor manufacturing processes and IT requirements.
  • Familiarity with MES, ERP systems is a plus.
  • Experience with industrial automation, IoT, or AI-based optimization is an advantage.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Japanese language proficiency (JLPT N2 or higher preferred) for communication with stakeholders.
  • Japanese proficiency is preferred for effective communication with stakeholders.
