About This Role:-

The responsibility of the Risk Manager is to assist the Head of Credit Risk Management to implement an appropriate risk management framework and risk controls relevant to AsiaNext's business model, reflective of best practices and aligned with policies of SIX and SBI.

The Risk Manager's narrower responsibility is to safeguard AsiaNext's credit risk profile by supervising the design and operation of its procedures and tools for member risk analysis, member on-boarding, margining, stress-testing and default management.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to) those outlined below, and may vary in line with the needs of the business, as determined by the Head of Credit Risk Management:-

  • Develop, document, prototype, test and assist in rolling out risk management tools and measures. Coverage includes market, credit and operational risks.
  • Develop, document, prototype, test and assist in rolling out risk management controls and monitors based on AsiaNext's policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Conduct user acceptance testing and regression testing to ensure the system implementation is in accordance with the risk management specification and policy.
  • Create written material on AsiaNext's risk management tools in a style appropriate for AsiaNext's staff, its clients, regulators and auditors or for external publication.
  • Ensure all risk reporting is completed in an accurate and timely fashion.
  • Partner with the management and commercial team to present AsiaNext to external stakeholders to enhance our brand reputation.
  • Advise and educate internal stakeholders on internal risk management policies and procedures.
  • Specific areas of focus for quantitative risk management include:

o VAR modelling and stress testing for different products, including options on futures.

o Real-time risk modelling, scenario analysis, risk aggregation

o Counterparty and liquidity risk for exchange members posting risky or illiquid collateral.

o Default fund set up.

o Counterparty credit analysis.

Qualification:

At least bachelor's degree or master's degree in banking and finance or related quantitative fields.

Experience

  • At least 10 years in relevant risk management in securities, treasury and financial service industry. Experience in crypto or digital asset exchange would be advantageous.
  • Managing risk in financial and non-financial risk capacity.
  • Financial risk management modelling and engineering.
  • Design, documentation and modification of risk management or financial models.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong project management and stakeholder collaboration skills.
  • Knowledge of programming language such as Python, SQL would be advantageous.
