We're looking to add an Engineer, Manufacturing in Singapore. The position will be based in our Univac Site in Woodlands.
As an Engineer, Manufacturing, you will:
Responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing injection molding & assembly related processes to produce high-quality medical devices.
The key responsibilities are as below:
1. Process Design & Optimization
- Develop and optimize injection molding processes for medical devices to meet product specifications and performance standards.
- Design, implement, and validate molding processes, including material, mold, and machinery selection.
- Conduct feasibility studies for new products and processes, including cost analysis and resource planning.
2. Technical Support & Troubleshooting
- Provide technical support for molding operations by troubleshooting process issues, resolving production challenges, and implementing corrective actions.
- Collaborate with manufacturing teams to ensure efficient and smooth production.
3. Assembly Operations
- Design and optimize manual and automated assembly processes for medical devices.
- Develop assembly instructions, work procedures, and training materials.
- Monitor and improve assembly processes to enhance efficiency, reduce defects, and maintain high product quality.
4. Quality Assurance & Compliance
- Ensure all molding and assembly processes comply with regulatory standards such as ISO 13485 and FDA regulations.
- Develop and maintain documentation for process validation, quality control, and product specifications.
- Conduct process validations using statistical methods like Design of Experiments (DOE) to ensure process stability and quality.
5. Project Management
- Lead and manage engineering projects related to molding and assembly, including timeline coordination, resource allocation, and team collaboration.
- Develop project plans, track progress, and report status updates to stakeholders.
6. Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities for process enhancements and lead initiatives to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and boost productivity.
- Stay updated on industry trends, new technologies, and best practices in injection molding and medical device manufacturing.
What skills and experiences are we looking for?
- Holds a degree in Mechanical / Manufacturing Engineering.
- Possesses a minimum of 3 years of experience in injection molding engineering, with a focus on medical molding and assembly processes.
- Hands-on experience with molding machinery, mold, and assembly equipment.
- Proficient in process optimization, quality control (QC), and regulatory compliance for medical devices.
- Preferably experienced in CAD software, such as SolidWorks or AutoCAD.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and able to troubleshoot complex issue.
- Good communication and project management skills, with the ability to lead cross-functional team.
