Job Responsibilities
Summary
As a Senior Network Engineer, you will responsible and play a critical role in designing, implementing and supporting Mizuho network infrastructure across the APAC region. Your expertise will be instrumental in driving transformation across the network infrastructure.

Major responsibilities
  • Split engineering and operations role in Enterprise Networking including voice, firewalls, load balancer, network encryption, port authentication and overall network controls and management
  • Help to drive network improvements and standardization for the network environments in both the Datacenters, Campus and Remote Branch offices
  • Perform tasks including but not limited to planning, staging of hardware and software, implementation of the solution in production environment, providing post-cutover support, documentation and end user training
  • Test, debug, conduct performance analysis and documentation of network infrastructure components
  • Creation and implementation of test plans (including functionality, integrity, stress testing and definition of test methodologies and strategy) related to network infrastructure
  • Ensure that plans for the network integrate effectively with other aspects of the technical infrastructure
  • Assist in the development and configuration of the network infrastructure from conceptualization through to stabilization
  • Rapidly diagnose and resolve network related incidents and outages to minimize downtime and maintain uninterrupted operations
  • Collaboration with cross-functional teams: Work closely with infrastructure and application teams to understand their requirements and provide network solutions that align to business needs
  • Proactively monitoring the network performance, identify bottlenecks and propose improvements to achieve optimal network efficiency and reliability
  • Regularly conduct capacity planning assessments to anticipate future requirements and ensure the network can scale to accommodate growing demands
  • Assist in the implementation of the network infrastructure by performing product customization, development, implementation and verification procedures to ensure successful installation of network hardware/software
  • Ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of network infrastructure required for new projects
  • Creates and maintains written documentation and diagrams for supported systems


Job Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in technical or engineering, or computer science or equivalent experience
  • 10+ years of experience supporting network and network security environments in a mission-critical environment
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high pressure, constantly changing environment
  • Experience in managing and driving complex global and regional projects with multiple functional teams
  • Hands on experience with Network security design and operations including: expert in routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP), Firewalls (Palo Alto, Fortinet, Checkpoint) and load balancers (F5)
  • Experience in deploying, managing and troubleshooting Cisco Unified Communications Manager, Cisco Unity Connection, Expressways and voice gateways.
  • Experience in security practices and methodologies including SSL/TLS encryption
  • SDN/SD-WAN experience is an advantage
  • Certification and/or training with vendor-neutral or vendor-specific focus
  • Basic understanding of operating system administration (Windows and Linux)
  • Basic scripting and automation experience
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills to technical and non-technical staff
  • Excellent time management and organization skills
