The Remanufacturing Process Technology (RPT) Group in ARTC islooking for a responsible and motivated laboratory officer to jointhe group. The lab officer?s responsibilities include operation ofhigh-power lasers for cleaning related experiments, metal andcomposite sample preparation, characterization, measurement, andmechanical testing. The lab officer also supports group?s researchactivities through procurement, design of experiments, equipmentscheduling, risks identification and assessment to ensure efficientand safe operation of our labs. The roles and responsibilitiesinclude the following areas:

• Performhigh-power laser material processing using robotics, CNC andhand-held systems on-site of ARTC and occasional visit to customersites.

• Perform material testing, samplepreparation, microstructure & defects analysis in fabricatedcoupons and parts.

• Tracking and managing labresource utilization, procurement, anddelivery.

• Storage space management andoptimization.

• Ensure high operationalreadiness by troubleshooting breakdowns, maintaining supplies,performing preventive maintenance, and liaising forrepairs.

• Planning equipment maintenance andfacilitating mechanical and electrical installations for newequipment.

• Assist in scheduling equipmentutilization and procurement for projectconsumables.

• Secondary roles related tohealth, safety, environment, and procurement to manage the RiskAssessment (RA), Standard Working Procedures (SWP), Permit to Work(PTW), and chemical purchasing and storage.

•Identify and recommend improvement measurements to ensuring highquality in lab safety and 8Sstandards

Detailed Jobrequirements:

• Polytechnic/Technical Diploma in Engineering

• Ability tolearn and adapt new technologies to stayrelevant.

• Excellent verbal and writtencommunication skills.

• Ability to learn andadapt new technologies to stay relevant.

•Excellent verbal and written communicationskills.

• Experience with high-power laser ispreferred.

• 1-2 years of experience working ina lab is preferred.

• Strong attention todetail.

• Proficient in MSoffice.
