Roles & Responsibilities

The KidSTART programme provides upstream support to children from low-income families in the areas of early childhood development, health, and social support. As a Lead KidSTART Practitioner, you will actively involved in the supervision and capabilities training of a team of KidSTART Practitioners (KSPs). You will also actively engage children and their families, and work closely with social / community partners and government agencies. At Singapore Children's Society, you will also be involved influencing change at the policy and organisational level from development of programmes for parents and cross-centre work/learnings.

Responsibilities

As a Lead KidSTART Practitioner, you will be expected to:

  • Lead and supervise a team of KSPs to build competencies, ensure programme fidelity and quality of implementation, refine and improve work processes for effective and efficient programme delivery.
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team of KSPs from diverse backgrounds to deliver the KidSTART curriculum to achieve satisfactory outcomes for families and their children.
  • Possess a clear vision and skills on establishing and maintaining high standards of service delivery.
  • Identify training needs, conduct, and coordinate regular individual and group reflective supervision sessions, training, and consultation for KSPs to enhance effectiveness of service delivery and outcomes.
  • Engage and network with key external and internal stakeholders and partners at the operational level to tap on resources and expertise, plug service gaps, advocate for additional resources and support for families, based on empirical evidence and data.
  • Ensure programme output and outcome indicators are met through regular audits of the quality and fidelity of home visitations through the evaluation and fidelity monitoring framework.
  • Monitor service delivery by ensuring the team's consistency in keeping up to date with administrative processes, provision of data and case recording in a timely manner.
  • Engage and collaborate with key internal and external stakeholders to develop processes to ensure seamless support is provided to families.
  • Take on a limited caseload of cases to maintain skills in assessment, rapport building, engagement and intervention with parents/caregivers so as to gain insights on ways to address challenges faced by supervisees
  • Contribute to the organisational mission of bringing relief and happiness to children through involvement in cross-centre work opportunities, fund-raising events and/or undertake any other responsibilities or duties assigned by the Head of Centre. Job Requirements

  • Degree in Social Work, Counselling, Psychology, Social Sciences, Early Childhood or equivalent.
  • At least 6 years of relevant work experience in the early childhood development or social service sectors.
  • At least 4 years' experience in supervisory responsibilities with a good track record.
  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills.
  • Motivated in promoting the professional development of staff.
  • Passionate and committed to working with low-income families and their children.
  • Possesses a keen interest in parenting and child development.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and ability to engage with stakeholders at different levels and government agencies.
  • Reflective supervision skills and motivation to enhance personal effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Flexible, open to change and familiar in working in fast paced organisations.
  • Willingness to work on some weekday evenings and Saturdays.
  • An excellent team player with good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in SSNET and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong organisational skills, with an ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
    effectively.
  • Good writing skills for case management and comfortable with data collation for reporting purposes.
  • Capacity to reflect on key strengths and needs and motivated to enhance personal effectiveness and efficiency at work.
  • Flexible, nimble, and able to adapt to organisational changes.

Working location will be at Bedok office.
