Roles & Responsibilities

At One World International School (OWIS), we are looking for passionate, adaptable educators who enjoy teaching students from diverse cultures. OWIS provides an individualised approach to learning that nurtures every aspect of child development. In addition to versatile learning spaces and a variety of extracurricular activities, we offer rigorous curricula that prepare students to be future innovators and leaders. We're an IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) World School, a Cambridge International School and an IBDP School. All teaching positions require a high proficiency in spoken and written English, a degree, teaching qualifications and ICT literacy.

Overall Responsibilities

  • Provide specific intervention methods to the children in the areas of academic, behaviour learning, social and communication skills.
  • Provide push-in/pull-out one-on-one/small group specialist remedial intervention in literacy and numeracy.
  • Assess and monitor the progress of learners and set goals for improvement, including report writing.
  • Assess, interpret and formulate individualised learning plans.
  • Works cooperatively with all educators and families to support children’s learning and development.
  • Prepares and updates lesson plans, reports, for students on the learning cycle.
  • Manage clear and precise parent interaction.
  • Participate in parent interaction and maintain clear and verifiable records of agreements.
  • Engage with school teams to contribute to the safe and seamless running of the organisation.
  • Take up extra-curricular activities. Be a part of school events, assemblies, staff training, meetings etc.
  • Promote the health and safety of assigned classes.

Requirements

  • Minimum two (2) years of relevant full-time learning support experience as a qualified teacher.
  • Candidates must at least possess a Bachelor's degree in Education and qualifications in learning support/learning difficulties/dyslexia teaching and certification and/or membership with local/international professional bodies.
  • Familiar with common learning support/remedial/reading intervention programs, theories, tools and methodologies for identification and assessments.
  • Must have strong knowledge and experience of the IB PYP curriculum and integration of learning.
  • Experience in an international school environment (preferred).
