Roles & Responsibilities

JOB TITLE

Quantity Surveyor, Jurong Island

JOB PURPOSE

Preparation of detailed estimates for tenders/proposals, administer pre and post contract, using bidding strategies to help company to stay competitive for each and every bidding exercise, assuring to have acceptable profits.

JOB SUMMARY

Handle project claims, preparation and submission of variation orders to the client including settling of final account of the project with client. Preparation of costing and tenders submission.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Duties:

Contract Tenders

1. Collection of tender documents, understand the tender requirements and the scope of work, including visiting job sites for field study, sourcing of materials and request for sub contractors' quotations and taking-off of quantities.

2. Collect, tabulate, analyze and evaluate information and quotations to make sure that it is complying to tender requirements and specifications

3. Meeting of suppliers/sub-contractors to further clarify on the product/scope that they have quoted (if required)

4. Preparation of costing for management review and approval.

5. Prepare relevant tender documents and information to submit for tender.

6. Attend tenders clarification meeting with all parties involved including clients and consultants (as and when required by the clients/consultants)

7. Upon award of tenders, attend kick off meeting prior to the start of the project.

8. Gather all the quotations which we have enquired during tender stage, negotiate and award jobs to sub contractors.

9. Confirmation of all materials that we require to purchase for the project and issuance of purchase requisition (when necessary) for Purchasing Dept to procure.

Project Management and Claims

1. Provide administrative support and maintain all required project information throughout each project for claim purposed to ensure that the claim data are up to-date and comprehensive.

2. Maintaining of proper documentation of correspondence from pre to post contract to job completion.

3. Prepare progressive claims and potential variation claims at regular intervals of the project.

4. Attending of weekly project meeting for update of project and preparation of minutes of meeting (when required by Project Manager)

5. Review and evaluate of sub-contractors' claims at regular interval to ensure that they are accurate and in compliance with subcontract terms and conditions.

6. Ensure proper closing of project account finalization with clients and sub-contractors.

Responsibilities:

1. Accountable for the accuracy of the contract tenders.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

Qualifications


• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Civil Engineering.

Experiences


• 5 years of contractual and costing experience.


• 5 years of relevant site experience working in Jurong Island


• Require own transport in Jurong Island
