This position will be held at theSchool of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE). Establishedin 1981, EEE is one of the founding Schools of NTU. Built on aculture of excellence, EEE is renowned for its high academicstandards and research. To support advanced research, EEE hosts 13research centres and facilities which are well-equipped withsophisticated and state-of-the-art equipment. Besides the 13centres, there are more than 50 laboratories, supporting both theteaching and research activities in theSchool.
The job holder will carry out cuttingedge research in hardware and/or cyber physical system security todiscover security vulnerabilities and threats in the hardwaredesign and supply chain, and develop countermeasures, designmethodologies, design tools, testing, verification and/orimplementations that help to thwart these threats and enhance thetrustworthiness of electronic sensing, storage, computing and/orcommunication systems.
The job holder will beactively involved in teaching and administration to contribute tothe University's aspiration to be a world-class research-intensiveuniversity. The job holder will be given time to develop his/herresearch, initially receiving a reduced teaching and administrativeworkload.
Responsibilities
- Secureresearch funding to build up research, and provide high qualityresearch outputs in publications, invention disclosures, andengineering designs, tools, protocols, etc. in addressing securityand privacy protection challenges faced by emerging technologiesand applications, such as heterogenous integration, internet ofthings, artificial intelligence, implantable and wearable devices,physical unclonable functions, radio frequency fingerprint,post-quantum cryptography, distributed computing, orcross-disciplines hardware and cyber physicalsecurity.
- Engage in the development anddelivery of undergraduate and postgraduate curricula in Electricaland Electronic Engineering and relateddisciplines.
- Support, supervise and mentorundergraduate students in project works and other academicpursuits, and postgraduate research students in research projectsand the development of their researchcareers.
- Play an active role in the life of theSchool of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, College ofEngineering and the University by supporting activities aroundresearch, teaching, enterprise, student experience and wideningparticipation.
Requirements
Candidateswith the following qualifications are encouraged toapply:
- A Ph.D. in Electrical &Electronic Engineering or a relevant field
- Atleast three years of research experience in hardware or cyberphysical security
- Excellent track records inpublishing high-impact papers in top journals andconferences
- Proven track records and expertisein hardware or cyber physicalsecurity
- Preferable to have secured someresearch funding as principalinvestigator
- Preferable to have proven trackrecords of teaching and mentoring
- Goodinterpersonal skills
- A mindset of continualgrowth and academicexcellence
