Job Purpose

Join our culinary team as a Junior Sous Chef We are seeking a talented and passionate individual to assist in leading our kitchen brigade. As a Junior Sous Chef, you will work closely with the Head Chef and Sous Chef to ensure the smooth operation of the kitchen, maintain high culinary standards, and deliver exceptional dining experiences to our guests.


Principal Accountabilities:

  • Assist in the daily management of kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and plating.
  • Supervise and train kitchen staff in culinary techniques, recipes, and food safety protocols.
  • Collaborate with the Head Chef and Sous Chef to develop and execute seasonal menus and daily specials.
  • Monitor food quality and presentation to ensure consistency and adherence to established standards.
  • Assist in inventory management, including ordering, receiving, and storing of ingredients and supplies.
  • Ensure proper sanitation and cleanliness of the kitchen area, following health and safety regulations.
  • Support the development of junior kitchen staff by providing guidance, feedback, and encouragement.
  • Assist in scheduling and staffing to meet operational needs and maintain productivity.

Communication & Working Relationships:

  • Work closely with the Head Chef, Sous Chef, and other kitchen staff to maintain open communication and teamwork.
  • Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth coordination of food service.

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:

  • Culinary degree or equivalent experience in a professional kitchen environment.
  • Previous experience as a Line Cook or Chef de Partie is preferred.
  • Strong culinary skills and knowledge of various cooking techniques and cuisines.
  • Understanding of food safety and sanitation regulations.
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
