Job Summary:

This role demands a deep understanding of modern software development practices, coupled with advanced automation expertise. The successful candidate will be responsible for the full lifecycle of test automation, from research and design to implementation, execution, and analysis, ensuring the highest quality of our software applications. This position requires a strong analytical mindset, a passion for innovation, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including software developers, DevOps engineers, and security specialists.

Responsibilities:

Research and Development:

  • Conduct in-depth research into emerging automation technologies, frameworks, and methodologies to enhance testing efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Design and develop specialized utility programs and test frameworks to support complex software testing needs.
  • Analyze and evaluate existing automation infrastructure and propose improvements to optimize performance and scalability.

Software Solution Development and Analysis:

  • Analyze user needs and develop comprehensive software testing solutions, leveraging principles and techniques of computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis.
  • Design and implement robust test plans and test cases, encompassing functional, performance, stress, security, and API testing.
  • Develop and maintain detailed test documentation, including test plans, test cases, and test reports.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex software defects, collaborating with development teams to ensure timely resolution.

Software Enhancement and Validation:

  • Update and enhance existing automation frameworks and test scripts to accommodate evolving software functionalities and requirements.
  • Develop and direct comprehensive software testing and validation procedures, ensuring adherence to industry best practices and quality standards.
  • Implement and maintain continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines, integrating automated testing seamlessly into the development lifecycle.
  • Perform code reviews of test automation scripts to ensure code quality and maintainability.

DevOps and Security Integration:

  • Integrate security testing into the CI/CD pipeline, utilizing tools for static and dynamic code analysis.
  • Work closely with DevOps engineers to ensure seamless integration of automated tests within the deployment process.
  • Utilize and improve upon existing infrastructure as code test solutions.
  • Implement and maintain performance and load testing within the CI/CD pipeline.
  • Implement and maintain API testing within the CI/CD pipeline.

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including software developers, DevOps engineers, product managers, and security analysts.
  • Communicate complex technical concepts clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior automation test engineers.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.

• Minimum of 8+ years of experience in software engineering with a strong focus on automation

• Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Python and JavaScript.

• Extensive experience with test automation frameworks such as Cypress, Selenium, JUnit, TestNG, or similar.

• Deep understanding of CI/CD pipelines and tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or similar.

• Experience with API testing tools such as Postman, RestAssured, or similar.

• Strong understanding of software development methodologies, including Agile and DevOps.

• Experience with security testing tools and methodologies (e.g., SAST, DAST).

• Experience with Infrastructure as code testing tools.

• Experience with performance and load testing tools.

• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills.

• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

• Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.

• Experience with cloud-based testing platforms and tools.

• Certifications in software testing or automation.

• Knowledge of common security vulnerabilities and mitigation techniques.
